Cocaine use

Hello there,

im 22 and have been using coke for 6 months now, but have given up 2 weeks ago. since then i have had the flu, and my nose has been running etc.. (typical flu symptoms)

however the cartaliage in the middle of my nose has either moved more into my right nostrel or the right side has swollen up, leaving less of a breathing gap in my right nostrel than in my left.

My right nostrel have become mopre sensitive due to this, however i mailnly snorted coke with my rleft nostrel so cannt understand how it has affected the right one and not the left, does this not matter.

Will the cartaliage move back on its own, or if its swollen due to infection, will it reduce.

I am willing to see my doctor about this, but am worried about confessing to it.

Is the information I provide to my doctor confidential between me and her, even if it is about use of an illegal substance?

Good to hear your going to stop using ,its the only answer I did coke for years I now have a hole the size of pencil eraser in my cartilage. I can barely breath at night I'm always blowing my nose, I actually look like i'm using everyday the way my nose is so screwed from using coke I don't anymore but I'll always have problems the rest of my life.Another thing its very addictive as you would know after using for 6months. I hope the best for you and hopefully your nose heals up with no permanent damage,Try using poly-sporin cream inside the nostril it will help alot.

Look at what your going through after only six months of using coke. Imagine what its going to be like after a year or lifetime of using coke. Your young and can still walk away from this drug before it really sinks it teeth into you and takes away your potential great life. Theres people on here who have had a lifetime of using coke. Ask around, see how things went when they continued to use recreationaly. I can promise you its not pretty. STOP while you still can. This is not a drill, your having real health problems and its only been a short time. Its not the road you want to be on. You CAN do this, walk away from it now while you still can.

After 6 months of using, there should not be significant damage yet, but there is a possibility that a small hole is being made and if so, that is why you can feel it in the other nostril, that happened to me. If you have been clean for 2 weeks, your nose has not had time to heal and it will be swollen and sore i imagine. i don't think you need to worry about your nose, it will heal after you stop unless you create that hole. it took me 4 years of heavy use to do that and i continued on for one more year. for me after a month clean my nose started to improve.

Now to the more important part, STAYING CLEAN. i hope you stick around here, this is a great place for support and has helped me stay off coke. You should see an improvement soon, just no more of this nasty drug. best of luck to ya. this is very normal after stopping coke.
