Cocodamol addiction

Hi all

I'm trying to kick a cocodamol addiction after around ten years. Not the most out of control addiction ever, I've never taken over the dosage but took between 4 and 8 a day. I obviously didn't take any during any of my 3 pregnancies but each time went back to it when I gave up breastfeeding.

I'm really pleased I'n doing well so far however now I'm worried sick I've done some liver or kidney damage. I had liver and kidney function tests for other reasons about 3 years ago which were fine but I'm really worried sick. I have bad anxiety (which is medicated) so my concern about this is off the scale.

Has anyone any experience of this? Does anyone have positive stories?

Thanks everyone. I've been very nervous to post here

Hi thanks so much for your response! My tests were 3 years ago so I'm worried there's been damage since. I have made an appt with my doc although I'd rather not say I've become dependant. Do you know of others with similar issues? Do you know if anyone has had similar tests and been ok?

Again, thank you so much for your help

Hi and Welcome!
Do not be sacred to Post, this is what we are here for..I am sorry it took so long for someone to reply. It is a holiday, so it is slow out here. Just keep checking in & out as other will chime in.

Have you addressed these concerns with your Dr.??
We sure can help you come off of these for good by sharing our own experiences, but as far as a taper that would be up to the Dr.
These type of pills really whack out our Brain Chemistry if anything. You have had a test and everything seemed fine, so why are you worried right now?? Are you having some pain issues in those areas?? We can walk with you but you should talk to the Dr..It sounds like you do your meds right and do not run short or go looking for more. Plus, you stopped a few times while feeding the baby's..I have Faith you can get off these if you want. Make it easier on yourself, by asking the Dr to do a slow taper. The detox is not fun, but it is working on staying clean that takes the cake..We are here to help. Keep checking your post and give us a update.
Bless
