Codeine syrup addiction

I have been addicted to codeine phosphate cough syrup from last seven years and consuming three or four bottles daily(each 100 ml). I want to get rid of this, can anyone help me ?
My age is 31.

Its entirely usual here in the states to deal with someone taking 4-6 / sixty mg pills per dose several times daily. Your dose isnt nearly that large -----  but do look at the ingredisnts on the syruo - probably phenrgan or similar. These are latge amounts for your liver .....   keep a stiff upper lip ---  suck it up big time ---  and after 3-5 days you will be well on you r way back to your old self. And trust me on this one .... I have been there. Are valium (Diazepam) otc in India? A few of those to help you sleep through it may not be a bad idea.

Thanks for your support, each 100 ml of syrup contains 10mg of codeine phosphate, and iam consuming 300-400ml daily.
So,please help me,iam eagerly waiting for your reply

i think i would stick with what daystorm said about,get some dvds be sick a few days
and just get it over with,i did it that way also.its the best and fastist way.

What else is in that cough syrup?  Keep in mind that codeine has a therapeutic ceiling effect at about 400mg, so taking anything beyond this is pointless and a waste (and you may be taking other medications that the syrup is adulterated with at levels which might be unsafe, hepatoxic, etc).  So yeah, how much codeine is in those bottles?  

Codeine is a pretty mild opiate.  Assuming that you were taking the max of 400 mg per dose, that is about the same as taking 50ish+ mg of oral morphine (note oral here because the liver's first pass effect on morphine comes into play, so in essence it equals about 8mg of morphine IV - a really small dose).  So, wd should not be terribly hard, certainly nothing close to oxycodone, morphine or heroin.  Then again, this is something that varies from person to person.

I would say go and see a doc (avoid seeing your own family doc - admitting that you have a narcotic abuse problem will guarantee that should you ever really need pain control, you had better get run down by a tank first).  There are no magic bullets for dopesickness.  Some find a quick taper using Suboxone works well for them.  Me, I just stock up on DVDs, water and benzos.  Clonidine at a dosage of 0.05 micrograms per kg of body mass helps, but your BP will be on the floor so take care.
