Hello Everyone. Has anyone ever experienced heart rate in the low 30-low 20's after stopping methadone? I was hospitalized for other issues then learned of my extreme low heat rate. When laying down my heart rate ranged from 33-39 bpm. Sitting in a chair or in the bed, 39-47 bpm. Walking around ,my heart rate went up to normal functioning, 60-70 even 105. My doctors were baffled, I did not meet the criteria for withdrawal, but Post Acute Symptoms after withdrawal!!!!
The second week, I became a completely sick person. My stomach ached, I was restless, and unable to manage myself well, had to get in and out of bed, walk to lessen my frustration. I had no sweats, clamminess, or jitters. I just had this awful tingling in my lower left leg that was nerve-wracking. The addictions folks were not sure what was happening with me. I had just completed a regimen of Flagyl and Cipro for appendicitis that did not require surgery and was also informed that I had renal cysts that appeared to be malignant, told this by three doctors. I could not tell if the anxiety was coming from post-withdrawal or all of the heavy duty news I had to deal with. My heart beating slowly caused extreme tiredness, My life had changed overnight,
Now, I am home after 12 days in hospital and every test imaginable slowly beginning to feel human . My PCP prescribed Lorezab (Atavan) for me which helped tremendously. I am to taper off using 4-8mg of dilaudid.
I continue to feel some what achy in my stomach and feel flu-like in my lower back. QUESTION: Is this the affects of discontinuing methadone after taking it for eight years for chronic pain. I took 20-40 mg a day about six hours a part. Tell me what you think is happening. Not to mention I have a closed head injury and take Gapabentin 300mg 3x daily, along with 60 mg Cymbalta. Tell me what you think , ever heard of this happening to anyone- the low heart rate? Does this sound like anxiety? I was also prescribed Oxcycontin but can't afford the co-pay. I will stop taking diladid and generic Atavan in about five more days, What should I expect, Thanks for your response,
Uzzy
