hang in there. i know all of the advice may be redudant but i'm on day 12 of methadone wd and i'm alive. i don't know why i'm alive but i think i made it through the worst. klonopin is helping.
my jump was from a 3 year opiate addiction. I went cold turkey from 270mg of methadone.
hell does not describe the week i've endured. please, give yourself strength and courage. by admitting your faults you can overcome this horrible affliction. good luck and i'll pray for you.
i agree with the above statement..tapering your dose everyday is a better idea than every other day, although if it works for you, then it works...everyone is different and needs to have their own treatment method...it would be best to be under professional supervision for tapering, but it sounds like that isnt an option...vitamins, eating healthy, exercising, and lots of fluids will help, then there are short term detoxing meds that will help is easing the wd...methadone wds are by far the worst wd's ive ever experienced, i was at 115mg for over 8 months had to spend 4 days in jail, i wa salso on 8_mgs of xanax daily for over a year that was by far worse than any H or oxy wd ive ever been thru period. they last for well over a month getting bettter after 3-4 weeks..but its intense and brutal so be prepared..tapering is the best way to avoid terrible wd effects, but there really no way to completely eliminate them...some good detox meds are short term long lasting benzodiazepine like valium or klonopin, or lorazepam-for anxiety, muscle spasms, convulsions, insomnia, bad feelings, and aids in many other effects from wd, then clonidine which is huge for the blood pressure, temp. fluctuations, the hot.cold, sweats, chills, and restlessness, that is a huge one, then ambien for insomnia if necessary, but both the ambien and benzos are addictive so they have to be as needed under doctor supervision that would be your best bet..-christos, oh yeah congrats on getting down so low, that is a huge feat, methadone is extremely tough to kick and your really doing great, stay strong and stay positive, go to meetings as well they def, help the mental side of the wd;s-christos
i am an ex methadone addict, congradulations on your taper
the only thing i would do different is decrease your dose each day and be consistent
when you take o one day and 20 the next its called spiking
sends your body spinning
wow.....i should start by saying i am not a doctor, just sharing my experience with methadone wd
you are much stronger than i was during detox, you are going to work tommorow!!!
makes me look like a big baby
many people here have taken amino acids during detox, i was not allowed to because i have liver disease, and at the time i detoxed my viral load was off the chart
hang in there, someone will be along and can help you with supplements
fell better soon
xo
