Ok so I take about 12mg of subs per day and I'm coming off them cold turkey it's been about 37 hours so far and no withdrawals yet what should I expect in terms of withdrawals and when should I expect them to hit me head on?

Hi,
This is my first time posting/asking/admitting my problem. I have been on 10/500 MG Hydrocodone for 10 years. 5 per day. I am out of them and I am totally freaking out. I am also in a world of hurt. Can anyone tell me what to do?

How are you feeling?  That is GREAT news that you've only been on them 2 months - that's gonna make a big difference in the intensity of the withdrawals.  Keep us posted :)

Well I've been through withdrawals before, plenty of times actually.  I've heard that the intensity is based on two things.  How much you've been taking and how long you've been doing it.  12mg a day is quite a bit.  But I've been on these subs for less than two months.  Idk, I think I'm gonna be alright.  I'll keep you guys posted as I go through this.

You are jumping from way way too much. This is why so many people hate on sub because people don't ween off correctly and have terrible wd and post there experiences. Are you doing this under the care of a doctor there's no way a doc would allow to Jump that high. You need to slowly ween down to at least 2mg if not lower many if us go down to crumbs and then even every other day and it can be almost painless. Your in for a rough ride and ot will start at 72 hours and Max out on day 5-7 and last about 2 weeks total. I would start again and ween down correctly if i were you..just my opinion. Good luck with whatever you do

Hi there,,subs have a long half life so the withdrawals may not set in until around 72hours (I believe) can you work with your doctor on a taper plan? Sub withdrawals are pretty harsh. All the same symptoms as other opiate withdrawals (flu like symptoms,,yawning,,sneezing,,sweats, restless legs,,extreme anxiety,,insomnia) Do you have some supplements in place to help you stay a lil comfortable? Or any meds that the doctor can prescibe for comfort? ((hugs))~Bkitty

Keep your head up! I know this can be done!

Hi,

How long have you been on Subs altogether?  May I ask the reason you are jumping from such a high amount?  Most people taper down to crumbs and then jump from there.  Subs have a very long half life and the withdrawals may not hit you for several days - especially at 12 mgs.  To be completely honest, I don't think withdrawals from that high of a dosage are going to be pretty at all.  Do you have absolutely have to jump from 12 mgs.?  I am not trying to be negative at all, just a little worried for you.  I am also on Subs and have been for awhile now - almost 2 years and have tried to jump from much, much lesser amounts and couldn't do it after the first week.  I do wish you the best though, and like they say - everybody is different so just maybe you can do this and I do wish you luck.  :)
