Jenny - Has your doctor told you to CT off tramadol? You are on a high dose, and CT could cause seziures. I would talk to him/her?
They are very addictive, and the do have a "wellness" or anti-depressant action that makes them harder to kick than a regular opiate.
Look for the tramadol/ultram recovery room part 40 and post there. It is on the right hand side of this screen. I am on a taper from up to 18 pills per day - abuse. The people in that room have a lot of helpful info about tramadol and techniques for minimizing the w/d discomfort. Good luck!
look, i have found this
http://www.opioids.com/tramadol/antidepressant.htm
this is what i have read here but let's wait until someone with experience on them can help you with this much better than me...
Antidepressant ? Huh sorry I'm confused I was told they were instead of anti inflammatorys as I have crohns disease ( recently diagnosed ) I was in hospital 3 weeks and put on steroids and the tramadol at high doses I've only been on th since September and wasn't given any info on them I just didn't think to look into them !
Now I am in the **** !!
Hi Jenny :)
i think that the antidepressant on the tramadol is what makes it so hard to quit ct and so dangerous, the other ingredient is a sinthetic opiate.. so maybe you could talk to your doctor and take an antidepressant for a while, i don't know, i don't have experience with trams but if i were to have to quit ct , maybe this is what i would do with the doctor's help, talk to yours and see what he/she has to say ?
I dont have experience with tramadol but Ive read that it needs to be tapered because going cold turkey can cause seizures. I would def talk to your dr about this.....good luck!
