Confronting your doctor

I want to taper down before I quit. I'm going to ask my doctor to scribe me about 90 5mg hydrocodones (500). Tell him I'm totally dependant and want to quit. He usually gives me 92 pills a month.10/650 they're 10 mg (1000) He knows I'm moving accross country in a few weeks. He gave me my last script a week ago and doesn't expect me back.

What do you think he'll say?

did you go threw the 92 pills already?..... it is hard to tell what he will do every doctor is different ...
Plus you are leaving and he wont be able to follow your progress..... so it is really a toss up...

P. S. I'm not quitting today because I have the packing and 2,000 mile road trip with my boys the next 3 weeks. They will get on aplane and leave me after we get there. (They are adults) They know about everything and my plans, just don't want them to feel bad leaving me if I'm in really bad shape.

Also, I'll have about 2-3 weeks of living without my furniture, computer, tv. All being moved by a company.

I figured I don't need extra hardships while going through withdrawl (withdrawal). But, the boys can help me with tapering before they leave.

I still have about 62 pills left. They will be hard to split in small doses because they're 10 mg.

I will be back in town for x-mas if my doctor wanted to see me. I'm just wondering if they can somehow black ball you from any doctor wanting to treat you. Also I have no insurance. A new doctor would mean alot of money. I don't want to switch to suboxone or anything else. Just want out!!!!!

I know what I'm capable of and c/t without a taper is not fessable. I've gone down from 9 pills a day to no more than 4 a day now. Sometimes only 2 a day.

you could ask him if you give him the remainder  of your tens will he gives you 5 ....that way you can brake them into two....  I dont know about back balling you ...... the pharmacies are starting to contact doctors ALOT more now ........ to stop some of the narcotic abuse ......

If your really going to taper and quit you have 62 why not taper with them why do you need 90 more if your intention is to quit?

How quick of a taper can a person do? This week I have several appointments that are far to drive, and I have to pack everything I own.

Next week I live with none of my belongings. No tv, no computer (which I was planning on sharing my experience with others) not even a bed. It's also the last week I spend with everyone I know. Including a boyfriend of 3 years. I'm moving by myself.

Next week me and 2 sons drive accross country to my new apartment. Driving in a car really sucks on my back.2,000 miles. They are looking forward to a fun time doing this. So am I.

tues. Dec.4 they hop on a plane and go home. Don't want them to feel bad leaving me if I'm in real bad shape. They have jobs they have to get home to.

I figure at the rate I'm going right now when they leave I'll probally be down to about 4or 5 pills. I'm only taking them now when the withdrawl (withdrawal) starts to get real bad. My original plan was just to make that work. But I still won't have any of my belongings for a couple of weeks. Being that I won't know a single soul down there it would be nice to at least have a computer of tv or nice soft bed to go through withdrawl (withdrawal) with. What do you think?
