Constipation / with Narcotics

Man I am so constipated. I had a hired time when I was using my DOC, but with this suboxone man it just isn't working out very well. Any suggestions, I tried bowel softner - Collace, Milk of magnesia, extra fiber, dulcolax. Should I try one with a stimulant? I am miserable and starting to worry because it just isn't coming out. Bowel blockage? I am going to have to see doctor and I don't really have the money. Could that be why I am vomiting with the suboxone.

Janet~  Get some Miralax and follow directions...get it today(like right now!)  It should work. Also,keep drinking water....

I think you're vomitting from the Sub because it happens sometimes with that drug. See how it is after the GI thing is clear.

yep...go with a stimulant now.......IF you don't have a bowel movement by tomorrow you need to get to see a doctor. there are also home enema kits you can get.....either way, if you don't get things moving really soon you need to seek medical attention.....give the stimulants and the enema a try. It's not fun to buy the stuff...but it's better than ending up in the ER

How many days has it been since your last bowel movement?  Any blood when you vomit?

My pharm told me that with narcotics the only thing that works are lax w/stimulants. Good luck!

The sub itself could be making you vomit - but also if your bowel is so impacted this will make you vomit too - so you really need to get this sorted. Go to a phamacy and have a good talk with the pharmacist telling him/her everything........ they will recommend something appropriate.

I have not really what you called had a good one since the first day. I have noticed a little blood in the stool that I have made. Mostly stone like pellets small amounts.  But I have an internal hemorrhoid. I have no blood in vomit. It is basically just the color of something I have ate or drank. I have been just light meals like a scrambled egg, soup, toast. I am going to buy a stimulant laxative tomorrow and try an enema. If I don't go by monday I am going to doctor. I just can't take this nothing coming out. While I am there I can talk to her with the vomiting issue if it is not connected to the bowel thing.

The best thing for constipation is Stool softener... It will take 12 to 16 hrs to work but it workg the best second to that is Flaxseed oil its a natural herb in pill form that works good to but when constipated bad use the softener..

I think the problem is that she has used a softener with no results - sounds like she may need a combo of a softener and stimulant   :-)

We are talking not much in a full 20 days. I have tried bowel softener, milk of magnesia, extra fiber, glycerin suppositories, dulclox suppositories. I was getting a few 10 or so hard pebbles, then a little more one night using the dulcolox. I had a bunch of watery stuff come out yesterday. But nothing much with poop in it. I am worried about blockage. I have also had 2 bouts of diverticulitis this year. Isn't that where colon gets infected and something stuck in one of those pits you get. I don't want to explode. lol

You better get to a Dr. or the toxins can be dangerous. Not to add to your worry, but do some research on google. 20 days is not good. When I was using (alot) sometimes I had to drink a bottle of the laxative and it would work in a couple of hrs. but the problem is it has been so long you are going to need the enema. I am with Greebs on this one, it is dangerous. I never wanted to talk about it, but it is reality. Good luck.
