There is a great article in the health pages on Cravings that Cathy sent me eons ago. Cravings typically last 10 to 15 minutes and if u get busy doing sumpin else. The worst thing someone can do is dwell on the craving cos it will literally eat u alive! Often cravings occur at similar times be it at work, while bored, while stressed etc. We cant avoid some triggers like work, but we can get busy doing something and the mind has a tough time thinking about 2 things at once if we are concentrating on sumpin else.. LOL If a craving wld not go away and bothered me off and on all day..i wld hit a meeting and it was gone for sure!
First off I am sure you have heard one day at a time. The cravings do get easier ove time. One of my favorite things to practice is the 3 d's. Delay, distract, decide.

The main point is cravings are powerful and they take powerful coping skills to conquer the cravings 1 minute at a time.

Make yourself a list of reasons to say no and read them everytime you have a craving. Seeing it in black and white helps.
Eat some chocolate or eat anything. I find cravings are stronger when I am hungry. Go for a walk, vacuum, clean. Anything to distract you.
I really find the chocolate and walks help me the most.
its hard =( i understand the craving and the excuse i'm bored...and etc..but what just gon throw money away for an hour feeling that we work so hard for.
Thanks for that, the only issue with the supply is in Australia that Codeine is available OTC hence the supply is a little easier.
So I need better ways to try and kick cravings.

Hello, I started l-tyrosine at 15 days clean and I use it still for energy. Also I killed every source out there for pills. I think for me it made a huge difference knowing that there was nothing out there for me. I guess personally I couldn't crave something that I knew I had no access to. I told my doc I was an addict, my pharmacy red flagged me and I told family and friends not to offer me pills. A few still do but it does feel good to simple say no thank you!
