Curious about symptoms

I take codiene pills every night.  4 of them, to help me sleep and relieve the restless legs syndrome.  I've been doing this for many years as well as taking more for migraines.  I now take Imitrex for my migraines.  I decided to stop taking the codiene pills and bam I was flattened with migraine after migraine after migrain for a week and a half, nauseau at night that would wake me up feeling like I'd have to run to the bathroom and puke.

I didn't clue in until recently that maybe it's because I stopped taking the codiene pills.  I would take between 2 and 4 a night every single night.

Could that be it?  Since I thought that, I started taking them again, but less and after a week I'll cut down again, then again until they are gone.  But my god, the headaches are insane!  If I can attribute them to this then it will be a  bit of a relief, but if not I can't figure out what is causing them.  They are debilitating, even with the Imitrex.

Hi guys! Im new to this forum but appreciate the support youve all given me. I suffer from very bad migraines also and was initially prescribed Percocet and Vicodin to combat the pain. This is how my addiction acutally started two years ago. From there I moved on to heroin - good idea right!? I am now in Suboxone treatment and it is a miracle drug (in combo with therapy of course). I just wanted to lend my support and let you know that I understand how bad the pain can get and how much of a struggle it is to find the proper medication to treat it, especially when all you want is pain killers. I am now taking TopaMax however, it makes me tired and it has cognative side affects as well, such as forgetfulness. Ive tried a whole slew of medications such as Imetrex but I had an allergic reaction to that. Its a constant struggle for me not to take the pain killers because the pain from these headaches is soo bad and taking the pain meds allows me to function and actually go to work. But hang in there! Another point of information - taking narcotics to treat migraine pain can actually create rebound headaches that begin when the pain medication wears off. So taking pain killers for treatment of migraines actually may prolong the duration of your headache. My prayers are with you.
