Curious

Ok guys...I have to ask this.  I know that opiates make you not be able to go number two.  Sometimes I don't go for 8 days at a time.  I get horrible stomach pains!!  I eat prunes...because I thought that helps.  What else can I do because I am really bloated and uncomfortable!!

I had horrible constipation on Tramadol and then after, when I took Imodium to help with withdrawals. I took too much for too long and ended up in the ER with severe pains and cramping. I was so afraid to take or eat any laxative, even though I suspected that I was experiencing severe constipation. The doctor gave me a powerful laxative in the ER, not sure I can find out what that was, but then he prescribed me an OTC solution that is used for colonoscopy bowel prep: Magnesium Citrate. It comes in lemon and cherry horror, and I drank 1 bottle in the ER and the other two in 12 hour increments. By the second day I was feeling much better. It didn't make me cramp more, which is what I was terrified about.

Good luck to you. You might try doing the Magnesium Citrate (or one of the other recommendations) every week or few days. And lots and lots of water.

I have been on methadone for 2 years and I still have not found what helps my constipation.  All I do know is someday are more painful then others and I have tried everything.  I exercise an drink water eat well, I take stool softeners and nothing seems to work.  So I feel for anyone who is going through this with their methadone...on the other hand tho it's better then being dope sick.  :)

I take FiberCon pills every day but they don't even seem to help.  I go poop...but just not often.  And when I do..it is only like really small pieces.  Sorry...I don't mean to be gross but I need to know this

I have this same issue... I didn't have good bowel habits before opiates so they are really bad now... i take 1500mgs of Liquid Calcium/Magnesieum.... also if that doesn't work fiber pills everynight before bed.. the cal/mag works well though..

Does an enema hurt?  I am so scared of pain.  Go figure after all these damn pills I take but I really am.  The enema will clean me right out right?  What about that thing that movie stars do?  Its a colon something...they clean you right out and you lose like 10lbs.

mine was the same way.. need to go but it ends up being like a rabbit... the calcium/magnesium liquid I got at the heath food store really helped and it comes in flavors like strawberry... if I need that kind of assistance I take 3 tablespoons before bed.. taste like yogurt..

I think I know what you are talking about...it made me puke before.  Um...its on the tip of my tongue.  I have taken like ducolax and womans laxative and I thought I was going to die!!!  My stomach hurt so bad!!!  I know they make you go but I can't go through that pain again.  What about that anema thing?  My boyfriend said he would do that for me but does it hurt?

Go to walmart and get a little green bottle that they make you drink before you have surgery.
