DAY 33 and still in Withdrawal....HELP

I am tiring quickly of feeling bad.

Once again, I laid awake last night until about 3am with aching restless
legs and arms. I work and just cannot do without sleep for much lomger.

During the day I am anxious and my skin just seems to crawl.
I am short-tempered.

Has anyone else had withdrawal symptoms for sooooooo LONG?

33 days still? that really sucks!

Benadryl will make you real sleepy. Of course not a good idea to take every nite though.

Exersizing and working out we all know helps but, yea it can be boring. I've taken up hiking the mountains nearby lately. It is such a good work out and it's really fun. Man, your legs will be so tired afterward. I think maybe we produce endorphins when you get a real cardio going because I just feel absolutely terrific after a hike.

If there's no hiking around could you rollerblade, bike riding, ect?

Sorry about your lack of sleep and I didn't read all the responses but have you tried Melatonin or Valerian Root?? They are suppose to both work well. I really hope you can get some sleep as I know it can wear you out and drag you down. Best of luck to you!

Since the amount of drugs and duration of addiction is indicative in the length of recovery, just how much were you taking and for how long?  I ask because it might be helpful to those who would get discouraged by the duration of your withdrawal symptoms...especially those who were short-term addicts who might take much less time to withdrawal.  Sorry for your continued distress, keep it going because turning back is worse.

hi sarah, have you tried exercise at all.  even a nice long walk after work.  it kicks the brain to produce the endorphins it has allowed pills to make for so long.  regular exercise keeps the brain producing them.  i know it is rough.  but, dont give up now.  you are about the round the bend in your recovery.

Its PAWS sweetie some ppl after feeling fine for 3 weeks will get certain episodes of it for a week at a time some ppl it just gets worse and worse but it will go away. Are you doing any aftercare? like meetings or exercise or anything? The restless legs and arms can be caused by a over active brain if your just living without using your not doing any healing you need to try and exercise your brain so your mentally tired and try exercise if you can even if its a brisk 20min walk. The day to day stress of work on top of overcoming drugs can be quit overwhelming. People have been clean for 20 30 50 yrs just know that it will pass but only if you try and help it pass. Go to NA meetings or AA meetings I think they will really help you. Easy part is getting clean the hardest part is staying clean (ya i know its been said a million and one times but its the truth and it cant be stressed enough) I know your tired of being tired but if this was easy places like this wouldnt exists. Hope you feel better <3

I'm so sorry you feel this way.  I would ask my doctor what he can do to help me, and the whole vitamin thing - really works!  It works so much better than I ever thought it would.  Also look at the amino acid protocal to the right of the page.  You are in my prayers, good luck and don't give up.

Hey there...I'm at day 46 (meth) and feel the same way. I had a few good days in a row week before last and thought I was over it all..but then it came back last weekend and feels like I"m almost where I was during week 1 or 2.
We've made it this far...might as well keep going (even though it does truly suck...hehe)

I am afraid that what you are experiencing is normal - you might want to try calcium/magnesium supplements and a heating pad for restless legs - use the entire Thomas Recipe (link at bottom right of page) for vitamin and supplement regimine - maybe benadryl or melatonin for sleep....dont forget the Amino Acid Protocol - I feel that is extremely useful........good luck

Sarah you are not alone as I feel behind a bit as well as I make two weeks today and don't feel as I should. Mentally abit better I can't even stop the antidaihreal as I tried and it came right back so I started again yesterday. Hang in there this has to be worth it to be productive again. Mike

if your minds not healthy or being positive, the body will follow. You have to force happiness for awhile...you cant dwell on the past or the pills. I relized it the minute i started forcing myself out and doing everything i would on pills and having fun without them...it all dropped instantly within two days.

I agree with the 2 post above, if you go to the Dr, and get something to help you sleep it may help to reduce the symptoms you are feeling during the day, giving your body a much needed chance to heal and recover, let alone your brain. Proud of day 33 keep up the good fight. This will soon be behind you...

SARA, I DONT IN ANY WAY WANT TO SCAIRE YOU BUT YES ALL MY PHYSICAL SYMPTOMS LASTED 6 WEEKS. AFTER THAT I HAD SOME MENTAL STUFF BUT THE PHYSICAL STUFF WAS GONE.I WAS TAKING ALOT OF OC'S THE 80MG  ONES AND WHATEVER ELSE I COULD GET.SO DEPENDING ON WHAT YOU TOOK AND FOR HOW LONG THIS CAN BE COMMON JUST HANG IN THERE IT DOES GET BETTER AND PLEASE DONT EVER LOOK BACK♥

You should get some real sleep aids. As for the other symptoms, I'm sure they will pass, no doubt much sooner once the sleep issue is addressed. My "5" days turned into about 20, so I believe your symptoms are common to some folks. Anyway, you should be there soon. You don't want to do this again, so stay clean. Best wishes

Hi, Sarah.  The first time I quit hydro, I had some symptoms like sleeplessness at time for several weeks.  My Dr. gave me Ambien CR...it was a godsend because I woke up feeling well rested.  I take no more than 15 a month, and I'm going through withdrawal (fell off the wagon and quit again - day 4) and the Ambien CR has really helped at night.  It seems easier to deal with the daytime symptoms when you have a full night of rest.  I would recommend you ask your Dr. for something.  There are also other things you can try, too, but this worked for me.  I don't feel it is addictive, either.

thanks guys.

"mommy"......6 weeks?
Does this mean you had some relief after 6 weeks?

ladyboop, I agree about the relapse.
This just wears you down and it would be soooo easy to just take a pill and make it stop.

I would go see your Dr, see if you can not get something that will help you sleep at night. I am afraird if you do not do something. The risk of a relaspe grows greater....

Good luck..
