OVer-the-counter meds did little to nothing for me, except immodium.  Sleep took a while to come back, I started getting around 2-3 hours a night by day 18 or so, and I'm day 24 and the last two nights I've gotten probably 5 hours or so of sleep.  I know it sounds rough but believe me you won't even notice it soon, I was very physically active for a few weeks on literally like 2 hours of sleep a night.  I think your body gets used to it and so does your mind.  You are so close to be over the hump you are going to feel better any minute with the physical stuff, (achy legs exc)  Keep up the good work you are almost out of the rabbit hole.

sorry to hear about the rough night. Had the same problem last night but feel alot better today. If things stay like this all day and tomorrow is better what a great day tomorrow will be. Man i have been having cravings more today  than yesterday. Guess cause i feel better i think just one and i would feel great and just one wouldnt hurt. Well bulls*** I say. Staying the course, I take a vitamin when the craving gets real bad. Hang in there bro we are doing this right here right now. John

I'm not sure if this will help you, but I have been taking Theraflu Nightime Warming liquid for severe colds.  I take one and a half capfuls and it helps me sleep.  It also has potassium in it (the same stuff that is in bananas) and I think it helps with some of the WD symptoms at night.

Good luck all.

Melatonin, valerian root, chamomile tea. These all help with the sleep bit. Muscle relaxers & Xanax works too. I used this for days 3-6.

I can't sugar coat this, but I will say that i am usually the odd man out or something. My sleep problems lasted a full month before they straightened out at all. Use benadryl, melatonin, sleepytime tea - lots of tricks out there - but they don't all work or work all of the time. I must emphasize that it is certainly worth a month or so of poor sleep to slay this dragon. Walk, hike, bike, run - try and wear yourself out -(I know - just when you don't really want to move...) and you will put this in the rearview mirror - right where it belongs. Good luck

Seep is going to be tough to find for awhile.  I was lucky I have Ambien and Valium for the first 10 days I took 10 mg Val and 2 Ambien and still tossed and turned. Day 12 now and last night only one Ambien no Valium  and slept fine.  It is a slow healing process.  We f**ked up our systems with those pills.  I feel better every day.  Keep it up sleep and relief will come.  I also put my headphones on and laid back listing to music.  At least it took my mind off the fact I could not sleep.

ya ive had some valium and xanax here and there they do help and the best part is i dont really like them so i dont think ill have problem quitting them and at such low doses at night just to make you sleep dont really think there is much harm done

It does suck, and everyone is different and everyones symptoms are different. For me, the first time I detoxed, I had the worse insomnia of my life, I mean I was up for almost two weeks, straight. I swear on my life. But, I also had lost my husband at that time as well. But then my second try, I could sleep fine, but had the worse RLS, EVER. It was soooo bad, so that kept me up. So its always different. Your insomnia should only last a day or two more. It all depends. If you did c/t then it should be over. Also, have you tried Melatonin??? It works wonders.......and is a natural supplement that can be found at Rite aid or any pharmacy or Super market....Luck to you bud,,,

besides for the rls and ras (restless arm syndrome) ive not felt all that bad, i think ive made it through the worst aside from that, ill see how tonight goes i got a xan im saving for when i go to bed, if it fails to work tommorrow ill have a bottle of melatonin definately, ya i quit c/t 6 days ago, hopefully your right and ill be fine tonight, but for anyone thats reading do not use icy hot when your trying to go to sleep, it worked for me but only after my legs werent on fire anymore, good luck to all, if anyone needs help i feel very confident ive kicked this habit, its when you can turn down the free ones you know your on the right path, so far ive turned down several and it feels great to do it

NEVER NEVER NEVER QUIT!!!!!!!
