well, you need to get some support if you are afraid of relapse.  not wanting to eat hydro's after we've abused them doesn't just go away by itself.

get some support.  tell your husband no matter what to not give you any.  etcetera...

it takes work.  if you want to get and stay clean - it takes work.  so roll up your sleeves....

good luck,

get off suboxome.
1) it is 50 times stronger than morphine, so, of course you feel fine on it.
2) It has a chemical in it that prevents you from getting high.
3) You are supposed to cut down on it until you feel no withdrwals, but that is essentially impossible. Your withdrawals from sub will be sooooo much worse than from 8 vicodin a day.
Get off the sub, get back on the vicodin for a few weeks until the sub is out of your system (check its half-life) and do the amino recipe on the bottom ight of this page. If you don't you will be on the sub forever.
Remember: doctors know VERY LITTLE about substance abuse/recovery. don't fall for maintenance drugs.

I will have to respectfuly disagree with gitpen, Suboxone allowed my son to escape methadone- a way more addictive drug than Vicodin. It took away his cravings- and to this day he has no yen for opiates. Because methadone stays in the system for so long, my son did a three month slow and low taper- he has been off of suboxone since July 29th. He is feeling great.
Vicodin does not have the half life of methadone. So it doesn't stay in the system long. You should be able to do a very short term taper with suboxone- 20 days or so. If you do it right you will escape MOST of the worst WDs. I don't know how much sub you are on but taper down to 2 mgs fairly quickly. 2mgs is still a heavy duty dose. My son had zero probs getting there from 16- very quickly. Then get and split 2 mg pills and taper .25 until you are down to a teeny tiny sliver a day, then start skipping days between doses. When you finally jump you may have some mild WDs- but my son was able to keep working through it all.
Down on the right side of this page you will find some very good info about sub- including a 21 day taper plan. The trick seems to be to make a plan and stick to it. Good luck and God bless.

You went on sub for a 6 to 8 a day hydro problem .? Honeslty I would also say taper off of the sub quickly you are going from a frying pan into a great big fire .DO NOT GO BACK ON THE HYDRO TO GET OFF THE SUB .You can do A quicktaper down and off the sub .What recovery care are you going to get so you dont end up relapseing .
