DENTIST HAD TO COME IN TODAY AND SEE ME!!!!

Ok, so i dont know how much more of this i can take!!!! i've been having extremely bad pain in my tooth where i had an old root canal. It started bothering me when i was in the hospital a few weeks ago. I had to have it "flushed out" on wednesday, then this friday i had to go back and he pulled it cause the infection was trapped under it in my jaw. Well, i havent slept since Friday!!!! it has gotten much worse, the pain is unbearable and i even broke down and took 2 ibuprofen last night, cause my pain pills werent helping. I could feel a large lump under the socket of me tooth. so i called the dentist at home this morning and he came into the office to see what was going on. turned out the infection was spreading rapidly in my jaw bone and moving inwards along my teeth. So he had to pull the next tooth over too!!!!!!! he gave me over "25" injections of local anestetic and because of the infection it couldnt asborb, so he gave me an injection of adrenelin and then more anestetic. my face is swelled up soooo big!!!! and it hurts sooooo bad!!!! he thinks when i lost all that bllod a few weeks ago, i already had a small infection there and when all the blood left my face for such a long period of time, it allowed the infection to fill right in. which explains why my tooth started hurting so much in the hospital. GEEZ, whats next????

anyways, i just wanted to post and let everyone know what was going on. If i dont post back, its because i'm gonna try and get a little rest(if i can) i'm soooo tired and desperate for some sleep....

You poor thing.
It sounds just like what I have gone through and what got me into this pill mess in the first place. I know the pain can be awfull, I too had an infection that spread to jaw, but I won't bore you with details. I just wanted to ask you if you have been prescribed any penicillin or Metronidazol or both? You need something to kill the infection, before it spreads further.

Wow!  How much more can a person take!  That sounds so freakin' painful!  I hope you are on the road to recovery.  Teeth are so serious when it comes to infection, etc.
My heart goes out to you...........so sorry you had to go through so much pain!

OMG.. girl you and that mouth.. you sound like me... I hope you get to rest.. Put a heating pad on it.. that always helped me some as far as the pain.. and if you need anything just ask..

tink- i was so worried about you!! my god what next?? that is horrible..I had a similar situation and no pain pills worked had to pull it it was so infected and had the swollen face, and there is no pain like tooth pain..
Sounds right from you losing so much blood and that it started in the hospital...
Try not to catch a dry socket..i didn't but i was very carefull..
