ANSWER to your ? on my should I be worried post:I have been put on the ativan for panic attacks,I take 1 3x aday, and 2 if I feel a panic attack comming on.The valium is for sleep, and the zoloft is for PTSD,I was an alter boy,and involved in that whole thing along with some other issues. The pain meds are for back issues from 22yrs construction abuse, building houses, etc. But every time I mention anything both DRs.add or increase my meds, should I just keep my mouth shut,I mean I'm on 8 different meds now.Morphine 60mg MS 5x a day,Percocet 10s starting this month for breakthrough pain,Metropolol BP,Rantidine,Zoloft 200mg,Ativan 1mg x5,Valium 10x,and chantix for smoking.

Well it all depends on weather or not you still need the drugs. If you still have pain continue with your morphine in whatever dose is effective for you. The antidepressants if all are needed then continue with them or whichever you need. You are on 2 potent benzos so if you decide to stop taking one of them (valium, xanax) they have to be tapered off b/c benzo withdrawal is extremely dangerous.Your doctor is increasing meds tomorrow, fill the script and take it when needed. If it's not needed keep it on hand for a rainy day. Panic attacks are much more dangerous than being on your meds. If you find any of the meds to be debilitating and interfereing with your day to day activities then you might want to think about talking to your doctor about tapering off and finding a medication that will not inhibit your daily life.

I hope this is somewhat helpful. The key is "dependence does not equal a problem" If you find that you do have a "problem" it might be time to reasess which meds are a problem and will it be more of a problem and or more debilitating to be off of them,
