Danger zone

How much pain meds is to much. I don't take any now but in only 13 days I will have major surgery one thing I can't get out of my brain is I can't get hooked as I am already in recovery for meth. How long did it take you ppl to get hooked and how did you know you were hooked? I am trying to ward of disaster. Doc said I would be on narcos 6 to 8 weeks.

Will you be able to have someone hold the meds for you?  That will help.......sara

approx 2-3 weeks of taking an opiate everyday and you'll see mild wd's.   Be careful....

If you have someone in your life who you trust and knows of your past troubles with narcotics, give the drugs to them and they can dispense them to you as prescribed.  Also, have this person keep the bottle in a small lockbox, that only they have the key for.

Good luck and be careful!

If your Doctor knows about your past addiction, I would be very surprised that he would prescribe any opiate pain killers. These things are a big problem for those of us with addictive personalities. Can you talk to your Doc about it and see what the alternatives are?

To clear it up it is crystal meth that I love and completely hate. I have no experiances with pain pills except for other minor times when I took them as prescribed and often had leftovers. My doctor is totally aware of my addiction he said I would start with a pump type thing and move to oral meds after one week. I do have someone who can hold my pills I can't imagine I will need that but with me you never know. Addict thinking and all that. I am amazed that after only 2 weeks I will have some withdrawls! I guess I could try not taking anything but that is almost as scary as wds.
