Darvocet

Can anyone help? Can I get off Hydro's by taking Darvocet? If so, how many Darvocet's can I take, not to be sick?

I will try to answr your question the best I can ok?  First off it is better to just get off without going to another opiate or drug.. But if you have the darvocet already, and you are going to try this no matter what anyway I will try and help..

Look at it this way.. Darvocet is a lower strength narcotic pain killer than hydrocodone.  So if you were addicted to hydro and were not able to taper using it to lessen the effects of the withdrawl, then basically you can use the Darvocet to use to taper off of..  You said you have 22 of them right? Here is what I would do if I was in your shoes....

1st thing you need to try and make those 22 pills last as long as possible to lessen the effect of the withdrawl off the hydro. Sicne the hydro withdrawl lasts about 4 days of bad withdrawl physically I would try and make the 22 pills last at least 4 days..  So for 4 days in a row I would do this..

5 1/2 darvocet each day for 4 days is 22 pills right..

Morning take 2 pills

Noonish take 2 pills

Night-time take 1 1/2 pills

Do this for the 4 days to make them last all 4 days.  This will not make you feel great, but you are not looking for that. We are trying to ONLY take off the edge of the sickness and help you get through the worst of the hydro withdrawl so that all you are left with is the mild withdrawl off darvoset(low dose)

If on day 4 you seem to be doing ok I would even take---------------->

morning 1 1/2

noonish 1 1/2

nighttime 1 1/2

This way you can take a whole pill on day 5 or even half early then half later on day 5.. This will help. Whether it is more mental than physical help by day 5 doesn't really matter. The main thing is that it helps, and now you should only have a mild withdrawl that should be DO-ABLE based on your situation right?

HOPE THIS HELPS

PLEASE LET US KNOW THE RESULTS OF THIS OK?

BEST OF LUCK

The darvocet are pretty low rent - you would need to do way too many of them to keep w/d's from happenning.- possibly enough to do a number on your liver. If you cannot get enough hydro's to taper off I would say to just go c/t -

It's just another crutch. You are basically asking if taking one opiate vs another is ok.

Well it's not. You will just be hooked on Darvocet.

Have you looked into Suboxone? Have you looked up any natural treatments? Have you spoken with a doctor?

Do you really want to detox?

Paste this into your browser, read it, and ask yourself if you are really wanting to get clean.....or did you just run out of Hydro's? Seriously, I don't think that is a hard question to ask yourself.

Good luck.

It is a step down, but you'd still be taking an opiate.  This is not too different from asking if you can use Marlboro Lights to stop smoking Marlboros.
