Day 11....so far, so good

Day 11....so far, so good

Well, its day 11 and I am doing much, much better. Feeling good, thinking better...overall...happy. Still tired and weak, as to be expected. But what can you do....you can't change it or make it go away. Just have to go through it.

Anyway, on my way into work this morning, I noticed a homeless man lying on the pavement. My heart literally sank. I started to cry instantly. I am not sure if that is depression, but all I thought to myself is, "here is this man, with no money, no family, using the street as his bed"..."And here I am, an addict, having a beautiful little girl, a warm bed, clean clothes...but spent almost 100,000 on Oxy Contin, ALONE, to date"...It amazes me how much we take for granted. Maybe I am just feeling guilty...who knows.....just wanted to share my thoughts....

Hope you are all well....

xo, Lisa

He made his choice and you've made yours. Obviously you have been blessed to realize you have a problem. Unfortunately he did not. I know you have a heart, but you've "made it". Even if it's been a slow process. Good luck.

Congrats on day 11!  It's sad to see people who are homeless and it always makes me feel a little guilty.  I always wonder about them...what their story is.  I always think..."There but for the grace of God go I."  We do tend to take things for granted until we lose them.  I try to remember that each day and to be thankful for the things in my life.  Be well and have a great day, sweetie.

So sorry you had to see that, but you know, I am a firm believer that God puts something in our paths to remind us of just how good we not only have it but how we are also putting it all at risk..............perhaps it is a memory that will save you from ever spending money on the demon pills again.

Glad you are doing so well!!!!

I agree with angel - I think that you need tools to keep you stronger..A tool is this website,,,a tool is you conscience.A tool is your survival instinct for your family.... And you are strong!  And you are clean!  And you and your little girl can have a better life now.... I saw a homeless guy the other morning sleeping on the beach while I was out running and I thought "what a great place to crash out and wake up!". It's funny that the same situation in a different context can feel so much different.
