Day 2, going well except for nausea

Day 2, going well except for nausea

Hi all, well I am on day 2 of sub. and everything is going well except that I was really nauseated after taking the morning sub. (2mg. and then 1 hour later 2mg more)  Yesterday was good too, I took 4mg in the afternoon and 4mg in the evening so I am sticking to my plan but I was also nauseated last night.

My son went and got me some emetrol for nausea and that stuff works great but I wonder why I am feeling this way?  I don't seem to remember hearing anyone else with this symptom.  I really don't want to complain too much though because it's been 40 hours since my last pain pill and I know if I was going CT that I would be in pure h*ll right now.

I am not taking my vitamins or anything right now because of the nausea...just want to stick with the least amount of anything going in my system right now.

Well, 12 more days and I will be done with the sub. and I am gonna work hard at changing my whole life, exercise, the way I eat, I am going to focus on getting my mind healthy and my body fit and ready for that bikini I haven't worn in several years...lol!!  I can't wait to go to the beach and just chill!

Lyn

PS> I am praying for us all every night and have been keeping a journal.  Here are a few thoughts for the day -

"You have had enough tragedy.  God will do something good in you.  God kept you living through all those years of infirmity because He had something greater for you than what you experienced earlier."

"God has more for you today than what you went through yesterday.  Don't give up.  Don't give in.  Hold on.  The blessing is on the way."

"Make a decision today to bury anything that has pulled you down, held you back, kept you in despair, limited you, deceived you, or made you vulnerable.  Throw it into the coffin.  Lower it into the ground.  Declare it finished in your life."

Lyn - great thoughts.  It's great to see yet another person making the decision to not accept a terrible life.

I didn't take sub, but I do believe a lot of people have the nausa problem when removing the pain pills.  Do try and stay hydrated... your dehydration from the nausa and lack of anything in your system can make other things worst.  Gatorade or some other sports drink (not with too much sugar) with plenty of water would do you some good.

Keep posting about your progess. I'm listening!

Thank you lonely, it does feel good to have people to talk with.  My family (mama & son) are very supportive but it is still hard to talk about with them.   Only people who have been there really understand.

I am glad you mentioned dehydration because maybe that is some of the problem.  I have been drinking water and diet dr. pepper so maybe I should lay off the soda for a while and go buy some Gatorade.

Check with your Dr. Sounds like the dose isn't quite right yet. I do know that some here say it took the first week to get things right.

That's why we're here! Keep chatting.

Yeah, I think the Diet Dr. Pepper is not doing much for you right now. Is there caffeine in Dr. Pepper?  I think so, but don't remember.  I go with a single cup of coffee in the morning and then just water/electrolyte drink throughout the day. It really helps to keep the pain down - feed some fluid into those muscles!

Keep up the great work!

I was wondering that too. Thanks for posting this. I never took sub but I know that when the dose is right. Most everyone feels great, right away.

Your takeing 8 mgs total of Sub a day, right?  Thats not really that much but it is possible its just slightly to much for you.  Some people do get alittle nausous at first, it takes some people 3-5 days to adjust to it. Make sure you eat something before or after takeing it, even just 1/2 banana or yogurt what ever. If that doesn't work, try lowering your dose by 2 mgs, for a total of 6 mgs per day.
Let me know how your doing, OK?

I also get a little nausea. Not bad but its there. I like it because I am eating alot less LOL. I agree you might be taking to much. Be careful though. Remember that if you drop your dose from 8 a day to 6 a day that is 1/4 of you intake a day. So if you were taking 10 hydros a day it would be like taking 7.5 the next day. Dropping that much will most likey cause discomfort. However since you are only on day 2 you should still be trying to find the dose that you are comfortable at. Also remember the half life is much longer on the sub. So you won't really feel the effects of your lower dose until the next day or later. I would lower your dose slowly and just a little at a time. Good luck its been great for me so far.

Flmagi, yes I have taken 8mg. yesterday and 8mg. today.  Each day I have done the same, 2mg. in the morning and wait an hour and then the other 2mg. and then in the evening 2mg. an wait an hour an then the last 2mg.

This is my dosing plan -

Day 1 - 8mg
Day 2 - 8mg
Day 3 - 6mg
Day 4 - 6mg
Day 5 - 6mg
Day 6 - 4mg
Day 7 - 4mg
Day 8 - 4mg
Day 9 - 2mg
Day10 -2mg
Day11 -1mg
Day12 -1mg
Day13 - .5mg
Day14 - .5mg

How does that sound? I only have 2 concerns but I am probably worrying because of the scary stories I have heard...lol.

First concern - Since day 3 is supposed to be worst day of withdrawal should I take 8mg again and then drop to 6mg the next day or just stick to the plan?

Second concern, do I need a "Day 15" of .5mg or is that long enough of a taper?  I just want to be done as soon as possible but want to make sure that last few days is tapered correctly.

Last question, I was reading thru the sub. book about not drinking, taking sedatives, benzo's, etc because they can cause death...duh! lol  Well, of course I have no intention doing that but is it safe to take melatonin tonight for sleep?  I know we discussed this stuff but I forgot.

I am overtired and really hope I sleep better tonight.

Thank you Bobby, I sure don't feel very strong.  Btw, this melatonin say's each tablet is 300mcg whatever that means.  I want to take one but hope one of you can tell me for sure.

I saw and old post where Fladdict told someone to take 3mg.  I wonder if she meant 300mcg like this says.

I know I am being ridiculous with this stupid worrying about everything.  I sure didn't worry taking tabs and somas by the handfuls.

I enjoyed your inspirational thoughts. I have been on sub for 2 1/2 months. In the beginning I had queazyness issues, mostly the morning dose. I do think maybe he put me on a bit too high of a dose. Anyway it subsided after a week or so. Hang in there and best of luck to you.

OK, first thing. The reason you're having a hard time sleeping is, you're taking your Sub to late in the evening. Sub will keep you awake sometimes. Also there is no need to split your doses up so many times, thats only for the first day.  If you take 8 mgs a day, take 4mgs in the am then another 4mgs around noon or 1 PM. I really reccommend not takeing the Sub past 4 PM.
At 6 mgs per day, take 4mgs in the AM and 2 mgs around 1 PM.  Yes stick to your plan of dropping the doses down. Sub has a half life, so you should have no problem dropping down to 6mgs today.
Yes, do the dose for day 15. You will not be addicted to the Sub at that point and any very minor withdrawels (if any) you may feel will just be left overs from your original DOC.  You may feel tired and lack of energy for a little while, along with cravings.
Remember to take your sub early enough, so it doesn't stop you from sleeping. I'm not sure about the melatonin. I have no problem sleeping.
Good luck and keep us updated on your progress.

Well, I took the melatonin last night and I am still alive! hahahaha  I swear, rereading my posts crack me up at how I have been worrying and analyzing every little thing, not to mention asking you all the same questions several times in the past few weeks. ~grin~

I am doing good today and I will follow all of your advice in your last post from here on out.  I can't believe I was cleaning the house all morning.  I was just thinking of how many here are doing CT and my heart goes out to them, I know they are really suffering.  I guess I took the easy way out with the withdrawal's but I know where I really have to focus and do everything I can to be proactive in my recovery is after the sub. and I am so ready and motivated.

I have already prepared myself mentally to expect lack of energy (my biggest problem) but I know it will come in time.

John - I  am really glad to hear that everything is going well for you.  Where are you at with your plan now?
