Day #2 on the Sub, I'm feeling weird...HELP!

Yesterday I  felt just completely out of it.  I can barely type this as I dose off.  It's like I felt on the pills, just without the high!  ARGH@  No wonder I have no cravings, I'm too tired!  Seriously though, I'm worried.  i see my dr. today so we' ll see.  I keep dosing off and dreaming.  I'm not joking.  Has anyone else on Sub felt this?  You know how much I'm usng delete now?  I should go lay down.   Last night I got the most upset stomach.  That's happened a  couple times. HELP!!!!   Everytime I open my eues The cursor is way the hell down at the bottom of the box.  I'm irritated.   No high (which is good), just eyes fluttering and closing. Anyone have these side effects?  And my ears are plugging and doing that wierd thing someone posted about the other day...ringing and what not.  i suppose though....   I'm frustruated.

Yes I had similar reaction when I first started.  How many mgs are you taking per day ?  Don't worry thing are going to get better , alot better.  Your dose could be too high. When I lowered my dose I started feeling much better.  Suboxone can be very confusing though. Too high a dose or too low can have similar symptoms.

Flutter you are probably taking to much. If your sleepy your on to much. Dont take anymore until you start to feel like you having withdrawls again. I would then take 2 mgs and see what happens. If after an hour you still feel like your having withdrawls take 2 more. Better to be on to little than on to much. Sub is very powerful even at low low doses. Make sure your melting completely under your tongue. Don't drink or smoke 30 minutes before or after you take your dose. Keep us informed.

she is on 2mg three times a day so 6mg, and flutt I feel the same way and I'm 4mg a day I feel so sleepe last time I was on 4mg I didn't feel this way so I don't know what it is I'm thinking of lowering my dose again but like you said if is to low you feel the same way to high ughhhhhhh.

Me? I'm good. I got sleepy one time so I did'nt take anymore until I felt like I was starting w/d's and took 2 mg's and that seems to be where I am most comfortable. I ran out of lexapro so my head has been dizzy and I'm having those little brain tremors you get when you quit lexapro suddenly. I'm getting a refill tonight so I should be great by tommorw. It has worked good for me so far. It seems to have leveled off right around the one week mark.

I take lexapro too and I does help and I did drop to 2mg and I was at that for 8 days but I had family problems and so I up my dose again to 4mg I think now I'm going to go on 3mg and see how I feel

Try it, that is one thing I like about the sub. If your on to low a dose you can easily go up. I'm trying to take as little as possible each day. The sooner I can quit the better.

I am going to being Sub either tonight or tomorrow.  The last time I took a percocet was a few hours ago.  When do you suggest I take the first pill of Sub.  I really want to do this and get off the percs.  I am scared though.  Please tell me a little bit about this and what I am to expect.  I was perscribed 2mg pills of Subutex and I am to take 1/2 a pill once a day.  How does it make you feel? I have so many questions and nobody is giving me any advice here. Please can someone help me? I am lost.  Nobody knows about my addiciton. Not even my boyfriend that I have lived with for the past 3 years.  Not my parents, nobody.  I could really use some support and guidance,

Thanks for writing back to me.  I have been taking them for at least 6 years. It started off slowly, with the recreational use. Then I got an injury and need them legitimitly.  I have been on the percs now at Pain management for the past 4 years.  It started out slowy at 5 mg. Then he increased it to 7.5 and i was only supposed to take up to 4 a day. Of course there is no way that lasts.  I was probably taking 2 at once. and would have at least 6 a day. I have the script for Subutex, not Suboxin. He gave me 15 pills 2 mg ea. I am supposed to take 1/2 a pill once I begin to feel w/d symptoms. I am scared I will take it to soon, but I also don't want to feel the w/d symptoms to much, I am just really nervouse.  Do yoou suggest I take off of work tomorrow so I am home for the first few doses?

Ok,you defenitenly want to be in w/d first. Sounds like you know what happens if your not. Usually 14-18 hours is good. I was at 18 hrs from my last pill when I took it. I was in moderate withdrawl (withdrawal). My nose was starting to run, not sneezing yet but almost.

ck out this site. This is a copy of the COWS test to see where you are with w/d. It will tell you what score you need to be at to take the sub. Once you are ready take two 2 mg tablets. One on each side under your tongue. Tilt your head slightly foward and let the tablets dissolve. Wait about an hour and see how you feel. If you are still having w/d symptoms take 1 more tablet. You should feel good rather quickly though. I felt better in half an hour. All my w/d symptoms were gone in 30 minutes and I felt great. Then whenever you start to feel w/d's coming back take another tablet. For the first week you have to just feel your way through it. If the 2mg's is not enough try taking 4 mg's at a time. If you find you get real sleepy after taking it your taking to much. If the w/d's still feel present after taking it your not taking enough. It takes about a week to stabalize and then you will feel normal. The first couple days you may even feel buzzed,energetic and like your on speed. You will instanly loose all desire and cravings for pills. Just make sure you are atleast 14 hours in without any pills. 14-18 hours,that is not hard to do. Just when you really start to get cranky and really feeling the w/d's you are ready. Hope this helps

I thought if you crush pill or anything (unsure about spliting it) it will cause the naloxone to be released and through you instantly into withdrawls.....  I would call 1-877-SUB-OXONE just to be sure about that.  I think they can give you answers to both pills.  Just don't want you to feel crumby.

Have you tried to quit on your own before?  I was taking twice that almost for several years and quit..6-7.5mg of hydrocodone a day is not a super high dose...or maybe u meant u were taking 6 at a time....anyway...i wish you the best at getting clean..whatever it takes..keep posting

If you can take off work do it just in case. I was off the day I went in to doctor. I could of easily went to work after taking my first dose. I actually went to the hospital to see my new grandaughter. I had to drive to downtown houston and it was no problem at all. Just make sure it is 14 hours since your last pill and you will be fine.

What were you on that you decided to begin Sub?  are you on Suboxin or Subutex? I have Subutex. He said (my doc) that it is the better one.

I was taking 10-12 10-650 loracets a day. I started out with 8 mgs of suboxone at my induction. I took another 4 mg about 5 hrs later then the next day when I started feeling the w/d's I took another 4 mgs and then started taking 2mgs at a time and have been there since. Sometimes I only take 1 mg at a time.  I had been taking the hydrocodone for about 5 years.

That's right, you're on Subutex.....it doesn't have that ingredient in it....the Nalexone.  Makes sense.  SOrry I butted in-DOH!  ☺

i take suboxone, and i always break my pill in half so i can have half under each side of my tongue, it dissolves quicker that way and and it works fine...i just cant stand the taste of it, even after all this time it still makes me gag at times and i end up spitting it out at times and try again  later...another reason i dont even usually take it until 11 am or so...
sub is tricky, being over tired can actually be from too high of a dose or too low of a dose, and the same thing goes for if you feel "speeded up"  could be too high or too low of a dose...its very tricky to find what dose is right for you...i dont think i have ever heard 2 stories that are the same...it really needs to be individualized....what worked for me wont work for everyone else...the first 7-10 days are the hardest...

maybe it should be for the first few days...???  because it REALLY IS difficult to find the proper dose for a lot of people, and no one is the same. as much as i have read and researched on sub, i have not heard of 2 stories the same and finding the right dose seems to be the #1 problem...BUT! then again, only the person taking the sub can tell how he/she feels whether they are ok or not, so even a doctor cant do that for you...so who knows, that wouldnt work in all cases either...
i required 32 mgs right from the start, and still wanted more to get rid of the withdrawals...never heard of ANYONE who had to do that before, not even anyone else coming off methadone...and my methadone dose was considered low...

Did you read my updated post since I returned from the doctor?  He asked me stick with my current doses and just play around with what times of day I take it.  I can take 2 of the 3 doses at bedtime if I want, and 1 in the afternoon....or 2 in the afternoon, and 1 in the evening.  I'm going to keep a journal and change it up every few days until I find a that works best for me.  This afternoon I felt good, and evening too.  Like right now, it's midnight and I'm fine.  My doctor also said it's possible it's bringing out the side effects of the Topamax which had never been evident in me before.  Which could VERY well be.  We'll see.  I'm taking a very low dose, so I'll just be cautious.

you are right...my doctor says exactly that, everybody is different...and there's no definate scientific answers to how one should respond to the Sub.  That's why we're going to adjust the schedule at this point, rather than the dose.  
He also said he'd never heard of anyone dosing off like I was...on this low of a dose....I'm like well, leave it to me to be the oddball!!!  ☺

wow i thought methadone was bad when i started, seems Bup is similiar could be a dose thing yes, i felt that way on methadone when i first went on it, i couldnt keep awake and vomited i almost said stick this stuff wish i had now.

I call that the "NOD OFF EFFECT".  I too had that in the beginning.  I think my dose was too high for me. I would nod, feel queazy, etc. But after 2 or 3 days my body got used to it.  I honestly feel that the dosage was too high.........which may be the case with you. Take less......that may help. The less the better anyway.

I only take 3 doses of 2 mgs.  I switched it up today by skipping my am dose and taking 1 afternoon dose and I just took my evening dose but of 4 mgs instead of my usual 2.  SO I'm still taking 6 mgs total just rearranged the schedule.  My doctor told me to try that, and just rearrange until I find something that works for me.  I have to say, this week overall, I feel so much better than I have in months, even before my dad died.  No cravings.  I feel this sense of acceptance with my dad....just in a way that it is reality and I need to accept my reality.  I'm not quite at accepting he's gone yet, but I've come much closer to it in these 4 days than I have the whole 6 weeks he's been gone.  Things are going to get easier, not better, but easier.  The pill addiction and my dad's death.  I'm going to handle them both.  I was on my way home from a friends, first time going out in MONTHS (!!!) and I almost went to an NA meeting until I remembered my two tablets were under my tongue and I didn't want to risk being too zonked to drive home from the meeing.  I haven't taken 2 at once before....so we'll see how I respond.  There are more meetings this weekend anyways.
