Day 5 off hydro, Day 2 off Ultram ER

by 13093, Feb 09, 2009 01:52PM
I am very grateful to this site as it has gotten me through til now. I am really surprised it is this hard.  I started taking an occ hydro for chronic leg pain and after 3 years got up to 12 10/500 a day,-cuz it helped all the other pains........  My Dr started me on the Ultram ER 200 mg one month ago.   I did not realize that it was also difficult to get off of,

My initial plan-after many failed weaning attemps was to go ct off hydro and then deal with the Ultram.  After reading this site, I realized that I should just get the whole thing over with.

I am really struggling, and want to succeed but it seems impossible.  I am so cold, so restless, so achey (achy), so weak.  The abdominal pain and runs are over.  I am taking hot baths like crazy.  I went to PT today (for my chronic leg pain)-didn't think I could do it but I did.  Does anyone know if the ER is harder to quit?  Also, I had only been on it for  a month.

I don't care for benzos but have a few so have been taking Xanax at night to sleep which has helped.  I also started on Zoloft last week.

My husband has been  supportive, I was afraid to tell him how far this had gone-I finally told him and am glad-my kids think this is the strangest stomach virus ever.....

Would love encouragement, info, support
Thanks so much

Congradulations, I hope I can do as well as you have. I plan on starting CT on Wednesday and plan on locking myself in a hotel room. Keep on this board, their is alot of "good people" that sure help. Hang in their, you will be thru it before you no it and look back on this and be gladd you did it.

thanks for the comments, it really helps.  I quit smoking about 17 yrs ago, (pack a day for 18 yrs) the patch had just come out at that time and I used it. Still smoke free 17 yrs later.  I swear this is 100 times harder that cigarettes.
