Derealization is not really a word in the dictionary but i think it means losing touch with reality perhaps? dunno..lots of addicts will not even take a cold med cos it can alter their mental status due to benadryl or ephedrine in the pill...if u take abstinence that far then it would mean no coffee or cokes due to caffeine/even a hot cup of tea would be not allowed if u take it to the extreme....no smoking either as smoking affects more recptor sites than drugs or alcohol making cigs tough to stop..I myself do not agree as there r times I want my diet coke and if i have a cold i will take sumpin for relief...if I am depressed and it lingers...i will get on an AD and did so after my divorce for 2 yrs...we are all different...and wehave to choose a goal we can live with..or we wont be able to reach our goal
GaGuy had a theory that people like us who are coming off of opiates might have even more mental problems that are compounded by more meds of any sort . Jimmy
GA guy thought it might help you stop taking your klopin and your ad ??? what was this supposesd to do?
Maybe I am just stupid from all the pills I have taken in my life but what is derealization? Are you having a problem with reality?

Sup, Jimmy?
In my opinion, no matter what drug you are taking (OTC, or Anti-depression or narcotics) they make you feel different than you would if you weren't taking anything. I used to take anti depression pills, and while they did seem to help my overall mindset and outlook on things, they still made me feel.....surreal, for lack of better terms. Some days were better than others, but most of the time they just made me feel like things weren't real (if that makes since). My head was cloudy and couldn't seem to concentrate on things. I have found this to be the case with just about anything that I take...
Not sure if this helps....
