Day 6 but....

I got addicted during chemo and took for a few years and then stopped. And started again when my spondylosis(sp) got so bad. My back is broken down from all the steroids that I took during 2 years of chemo and radiation. Is there something that I can take from the doctor that will help with this pain that will not mess up my 5 days clean. I flushed my norcos and my moms (sorry mom), but have not left the bed since Tuesday. Only to shower. I am not a benzo lover or even liker, so the xanax and ativan that I have just put me to sleep. JUst what I need, more sleeping all day while my kids and their friends traipse through my house and go swimming. Their good time is pissing me off. Maybe my anti depressants arent working. I don't know, but I am sliding. I cut my arm last night. Just a little to refocus my pain. I don't want to feel this way anymore. What can I do?

Welcome to this forum...there is a lot of support and help here...

DId you call your Dr. for the pain or for the anti-depressants?

You may want to talk to someone (counseling or therapy).about the drugging and cutting..it it may help you get to the core issues of why you keep doing destructive things to yourself. I'm sorry you havent' been able to get out of bed....
I hope your Dr. calls you back soon.

Keep posting!!!

Just stay away from the opiates. It gets easier everyday. If you bounce back in fourth it just keeps getting harder. Exercise and take a hot bath.

Called and left a message, but no reply yet. He may say take Advil, but believe me, if Advil worked, I wouldn't have started taking the norco.
