Day 6!!!!!

Hello everyone out there!  It's been 6 days and 4 hours.  Today has been pretty good.  I've found that I do better when I have people (my family) around.  I get really depressed when I'm alone.  I hope everyone is doing well.
I did slip last night (after getting really pissed off at my husband) and took two flexril.  At least I didn't go for the vics or perc.
I am really looking forward to the day I can look back on all this and say "boy am I glad all that's over."  For now, I'll keep taking it hour by hour, day by day.

Hey you!! Way to gooo!! Although you went for a flexeral, hey you did what you had to do right? I am assuming ( hope) it was to de-stress and possibly sleep? Long as you don;t get stuck trading one for another, you know what I mean. :)

Those things, I hate em. The generic is "cyclobenzaprine" and they knock me OUT! I could not imagine 2. lol.

Anyhow..I am so glad your here with us, thank you for teeling us your story and glad to see youy updating us along the way!!!

Keep posting as much as you feel you need to! I have to or I will go insane! I found it helps to read all the othe rposts too, and responding. Even if it is advice I do not take myself, very well.
But it does help, and makes it alot easier to know everyone here knows EXACTLY what we are going through, and understand every bit of it. Non judging and all. That is a huge help in itself.

Keep up the great work hun!! Your doing great!

Hey there again.  I have a question and hoping someone might be able to help.  I've been off the perc. and vics for 6 days now.  I have used the Xanax I had been perscribed a while back to help with the anxiety.  Is this safe?  Is there a chance that this could just turn into another addiction?

Hey hun;
It can yes...how much are you taking? Also what is your prescribed dose? I would be very very careful..also how many days have you been taking them now? 6?

If you are still taking them, and you are feeling better right now from the w/d's..I would taper them down then. That is the safest way as to not incur any withdrawels. If you can just stop them, then thats awsome. Otherwise I would start tapering.

Good for you.  Just try to think how much better you'll feel three days from now.  I can't imagine being in your position and having access to the meds daily.
I look back and can't even believe this is actually happening to me.  I went through some pretty rough times as a child (foster home), and being sexually abused later by my step-father, and made it through all that without turning to drugs or alcohol.  Now, 20 years later, here I am with a wonderful husband, three beautiful children, the job I've always wanted, and I turn into a druggie.  Go Figure!
Make it through today and know that you get to add another number tomorrow.

Have you had support from your family/wife?  My husband has been great, although he's a little less sensitive this time.  I went through all this last Sept. but only lasted about 45 days.  So, here I am again, trying to detox.
I'm 36, with three small children.  I think that's some of the reason why it was so easy for me to abuse the drugs (although they were always perscribed). The drugs seemed to make it easier for me to deal with the chaos and stress of daily life.  Excuses right!?!

Thanks for the email.  Quick update. . . my husband found my Xanax and took those away also.  I begged him to let me keep at least enough for the next week to help me sleep (and deal with PMS which is why I was Rx them in the first place).  So, I'll try to regulate those and only take one a night to help me sleep and go from there.  Hopefully I'll be feeling much better by then.

Take my advise. Throw away allm your perks and vics...you will relapse. It is more mental than physical. I am off an 80mg Oxy taper taht took much longer than I planned. Onece a week I would find an excuse (this is subconcious adiction) to take another 20 and chew it. sets you back days. If you are off throw them away
