Day 6...thanks to clonidine!

Hello everyone!!  I haven't been on in a while due to the fact that, well, i have been pretty sick.  I am on day 6 though and not feeling too bad.  I am really struggling the most with muscle aches, my back, and a little anxiety.   Oh, yeah and the shakes.  I have to recommend to anyone who wants to quit cold turkey to try a drug called Clonidine.  I am wearing the patch for 7 days and then I take it off.  It has helped tremendously with withdrawals.  I have been able to eat and no diarrhea.  I have had a lot of anxiety in the beginning so I just took Valium.  You have to really watch and talk to your doc about what aminos you take if you use the clonidine.  look it up and read about it, i highly recommend it.  I was doing anywhere from 70 to 80mgs of percs a day for about 7 months and my withdrawals, thanks to clonidine, haven't been that bad after day 4.  The only thing is my blood psi and pulse has spiked to 157/111 at one point and had to go to the doc.  He just said rest, rest, rest and take the valium.  So, i'll stop talking now, just wanted to let everyone know about the clonidine...I FEEL GRRRREAAAATTT!!!  haha, not really!

Well...that's cool...I knew it came in pill...just didn't know about the patch!

FYI - Clonodine does come in pill form. ,1mg. I was prescribed .1mg pill 2x daily when I jumped off SUB.

i am very proud of myself, the psychological part is starting to come on though, but i will get through that too.  im not sure if clonidine comes in a pill form or not, but the patch is great.  i don't have to worry about taking a pill all the time, well maybe the valium.  i was completely honest with my doc and they hooked me up.  thanks for the reply joann, it's nice to have friends on here..:)

So glad to hear how you are doing! The physical part will soon be over and you will be so happy clean! How proud of yourself are you??? :)
So the clonidine comes in a patch? I didn't know that.
