Day 79 of Vicodin withdrawal

Day 79 of Vicodin withdrawal

I've been clean for almost a quarter of a year.  Seems small when you think of it that way, but I'm here after nearly two years stepping up to an eventual 12-15 10's a day, then going cold turkey, riding out the pill flu that seems to go on forever.  And, I've reshape my life, I feel stronger now than I've ever felt.  I have a precision to my thoughts now that had been lacking, while I was popping and rocking.  I'm back in school finishing up my Master's degree and I just received a phenomenal job offer.  I will not say it's been easy, temptation is there for you when you're at your lowest point, promising "It will be just this one time, and you can stop again afterward...you did it once." No I put the pills down and that's where they're staying.  I'm almost to my 90 day mark and I will continue to beat this...

Thank you so much for sharing! I am currently working with my husband to get him off of methadone. It's been a tough journey and he is feeling  very discouraged (as am I).  It helps to know that other people have kicked habits and gone on to be successful!

Hi and 79 days is something to be proud of!  11 away from the big 9-0.  Your mind, body and spirit are clear and you've renewed and reclaimed your life.  Good for you!   Have you given any thought to changing your moniker?  Idiothusband does not describe the man I'm reading about now, and to be honest, it didn't fit before.   Give it some thought.  :)

It's so encouraging to all on this forum to read success stories like yours.

Keep it up and keep posting - you're doing an awesome job!

Well wishes to you....

Sandy :)
