Day 8 or 9...

Well the last week has been pretty crazy! I had my roughest days on day 4 & 5 but I'm doing okay now! I do have to say that the anxiety has been off the charts for a few days however, with my family, friends, and co-workers knowing about this it has been easier than previous tries! I am still dealing with being tired all the time and just wanting to lay in bed, but I have to keep making myself MOVE! Can anyone give me a timeline of how long this lasted with you? Also if anyone just wants someone to talk to about  everything PLEASE feel free to PM me!

You are doing such a great job!  Kudos to you on telling your secret and getting thru the acute physical WD's.  I would say for me personally, the lack of sleep lasted probably up to a month.  The lack of energy probably a bit longer.  It was a matter of forcing myself to move every day, going to work helped, going to the gym helped, or just taking walks.  Keep pushing the fluids, protein shakes, vitamins.  But to be clear, even though they lasted awhile, the symptoms did get a bit better each day.  It was very much baby steps with the sleep and energy.
With that said, keep doing what your doing.  You are doing AWESOME!  Your positive spirit and attitude will get you thru this dude!

Uncle! I agree as usual w/ Sonrissa. I gotta say, you seem to be doing really well: you are posting a lot (meaning you aren't staying in your head!), you are asking for help, and you told all those peeps in your life...that's awesome!!

Yeah, you're right on schedule: feeling anxious and lethargic. I always say this but when I've read on other sources that detox takes 5 to 10 days, I get really annoyed. Yes, maybe the ACUTE phase, but feeling very run down, shaky, takes a while. I recall it being a couple of weeks til that sludge brain feeling let up. As well as feeling weak and winded easily. So time, my friend, time. Consider how you felt on day 2 compared to today; big difference right? Same as next week, and on and on.

You are kicking arse, dude! Keep posting and keep it up!!

Hey Uncle, sounds like you are doing pretty well! Congrats on getting through that first week! It can be tough. While you should be over the worst of the physical stuff, the anxiety and fatigue can linger for a while. I can't tell you exactly how long. The best thing you can do  right now is to keep moving. Force yourself. Get outside in the fresh air, it's the best thing. Also, it's really time to start think of aftercare. This will give you the support and tools you need to stay clean. Take care, you are doing great! All the best!
