Day 8 tab free...with suboxone Help!

Hello all.  I was on hydrocodone for migraine headaches for about 5 years now. The past 2-3 years I have taken anywhere from 200-300mg of hydrocodone a day.  I had to revolve my whole life around the lortabs. I couldn't go anywhere unless I had my pills. Anyways I decided to quit so I got on Suboxone (8mg 3 times per day). It seems to be helping but I can't help wanting to stop taking my Suboxone and take my hydrocodones...especially when I have a really bad headache. So my question is...what can I do to increase my chances of staying clean? What should I do for my migraines? Is there anything thats pretty strong but not an opiate? I really want to kick this habit and would appreciate any help/advice you could give me.
     Thanks,
         Dan

I am right there with you, I am on the same journey my friend, I was also taking 30-35 pills a day, it all started because of migraine headaches. I am on day 5 of suboxone and I am also taking 8mg , 3 a day. The Lord is literallly putting his guidance everywhere.

Here is my opinion on what you are going through, first do not be afraid of getting a headache. I have been on that rollercoaster as well,  if you are craving the LORATaB then I would talk to the doc about possibly going up one more pill. MIGRAINES, are not helped by LORTAB, it does not take your headache away, (the ultimate goal ) you've trained your brain to think that. (me too) I have found that if my headache went away when I took my hydro then it was NOT a migraine. SO, I am rambling......

Talk to your doctor, see about getting on a migraine preventative and some type of TRIPTAN, I suggest AMERGE if you have to function through a migraine and RELPAX if you have the luxury to lay down and rest through one.

one more thing I have read numerous places that excessive use of hydrocone can actually exasterbate MIGRAINE symptoms.

We are in the same boat here if you need a shoulder or someone to vent, cry, laugh, ect, to please keep YOURBESTLIFE in mind.

Thank you so much for responding. Wow, that's crazy that we both got on it for migraines and both are on the same dose of suboxone. Anyways, congrads on taking the right steps foward. I think I am going to stick with my dose of suboxone and not increase it because (a) I don't want to increase my chances of getting hooked on subox, and (b) I have been a couple days without tabs before (with NO suboxone) and it is much worse than what I am currently going through.
Anyways, I think that we can do this! The suboxone is there to help us, but it is up to us to WANT to get clean. I hope we could keep in touch over the next weeks. Keep me updated on your progress and I'll do the same.
Thank you,
Dan
