ok so its now day 9.. i still feel a lot better then the first 2 to 3 days off but its just really weird like one day ill be ok and then the next day i have shortness of breath and my back hurting serverly. its crazy but im thinking that this is only the worst and i will completely say that i am free from any drug with confidence. Its soo great~! I know i havent been on in a couple of days but im just trying to stay focus on the important things like bills and my family and support. I will def keep posting how i am doing each day or every couple of days.. if anyone is going through the same syptoms coming off methadone let me know what you are doing to pass the time thank you to all that have commented and supported me it really is helping my detox go smoother <3
I'm on day 7 and have the same thing going on. Just when I thought it was over it started all over again. Right now I'm am so mentally and physically exhausted and need sleep badly. My head keeps pounding and I hate the sweats and heart palpations. Let me know when this subsided from you or if you even had this. I'm like you but only 2 days behind.
Good for you for sticking with it. It is going to be a bit longer but you can get through this!
Did you have a hobby or something that you really liked to do before the drugs? Reading? Watching old movies? Doing jig saw puzzles? Whatever it was, try doing it again. I was always an avid reader and during my drug days I got away from it. When I got clean I picked it back up again and it always helps to relax me. It takes me to different, far away places and I get involved with the characters. I also love playing Backgammon and since hubby works quite a bit, I have a version on my computer and play that a lot. It is challenging and it gets me thinking for sure. So if you love computer games get yourself back into that. Whatever you can do to relax yourself and find enjoyment without the use of drugs is great!! Again, glad to see you are doing good and sticking around here.
Anrtech, you will get better support is you start your own thread and let us get to know you. Tell us what is going on with you there and make can make some suggestions and give you support.
I'm trying to find me. I thought I got a glimpse Friday on way home from physical therapy. Just a glimpse mind you not a good hard look. Today was my third na meeting in as many days and the first 3 of my life. So, all charged up with my new self, I took myself for a ride thru the scenic Southwest and I stopped at a truck stop and bought some cd's. I was really jonesing for some George Thoroughgood, but had to settle. I turned it up loud, cruised and sang like the good ole days. Kudos on your clean time, I'm on day 8 and gettin better at a snails pace, but the music is awesome.
HI Annemarie its good to see your feeling a bit better it not unusual for you to start having some good days then bam down again ....methadone is very cyclic and as you come off it you will go threw peeks and troughs along the way....it takes some time to get well and its different for everyone just as the detox is some find it ez others it like having teeth pulled... just hang in there it may takes some time but eventually you will get better keep posting to let us know how your doing good luck and God bless.....Gnarly
I'm on day 9 detoxing from methadone 40 mgs a day. I agree somedays I feel OK then I'm back down again before u know it. I've been on methadone twice. I was on it for 7 yrs and got clean may of 09. Well here Iam again, been back on for bout 8 months. I decided to come clean myself without any help! I got support from my mom which is great! But that's where I git the pills. Yes I stole them! Not proud. My mom has had 2 back surgeries and has to take em. IM READY TO FIGHT! How much longer will I not sleep! I also am still sweating like crazy. I can barely stand to do anything at times,no energy. How long does this last? Everyone hang in there we can do it!!!!!
