Delayed withdrawal time.

Delayed withdrawal time.

Hey there, i'm brand new to the site but i've been lurking this forum for quite some time.

I'm quitting opiates today. Cold turkey. This will be my 3rd time. But this is the first time i'm doing it on my own terms.

Where my question comes in is, My first time withdrawaling was 1 year ago and i had ran out of supply. I was not addicted at the time cause i wasn't even worried about not being able to get any more percs/oxycontins. The weird thing is, i felt kind of bad the first few days but then i got considerably better.... Then day 5 hit and i was uncontrollably throwing up. Thats when the diarrhea started also.

The second time i withdrawaled, i had been addicted for months by that point. Up to 5 or 6 Oxy 30's a day somtimes. And it was the same thing. I felt terrible for a few days but then got better.

Alright, here it is. Why do my symptoms start so much later then everyone else? Is there anyway to expedite this so it starts faster? i'm in a bit of a time crunch to get this over as fast as possible (exactly like everyone else is lol). I've never heard of anyone else like this. I've searched and searched and can't find any info on it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

everyone is different when it comes to the symptoms of withdrawal , it can depend on how much, or how long you have been taking, i hope you are successful this time, best wishes,

Yep just like sudie said everyone is different with withdrawal some with get over that hump faster some slower but as far as the speeding the process up you can take some vitamins and other stuff that will help a little bit but not that much but you have to think of it like we didnt become addicted overnight so we cant expect to get better overnight either just hang in there and remember it will get better you just have to be strong and make sure you keep telling yourself this is the last time i am gonna do this because if you do it this last time you will never have to feel this bad again ya know what i mean but good luck and hang in there also feel free to msg me if ya wanna talk or have any questions n i will help as much as i possibly can

Good Luck and Godspeed

Thanks a ton man. Yeah i am absolutely determined. But it doesn't really matter if i'm not. I'm moving from Florida (go gators btw) to alaska here in 2 weeks and i won't have the connections or the money up there to get any sort of opiate. Where a 30 might go for 10-20 bucks down here its abotu 100-150 up there. So no worries there. I took about 20 percocet 5's last night and now i'm out. I'm Leaving to go tot eh store to get some imodium (immodium) and some V8 so i can get some vitamins in me before i start puking.

Thanks a lot for all the support guys. I have no one to talk to about this so its all on my shoulders. Talking to you guys will be a big help.

Thats always great to get rid of all connections because it is way to easy to make a phone call and yea get a good multivitamin and i would also recommend some valerian root to help your anxiety and it also helps with sleep at night and def get some immodium

Good Luck and Godspeed

Bananas will help and a Potassium supplement as well. There is a product called "Hylands Restless Legs" that many swear by. Wal-Mart carries it. Be sure to take hot baths to soothe the aching muscles and help relax you. The Valerian Root can be purchased at a health food store. I didn't see the full list of what you have but be sure to check that none of these interact with each other, especially if you are on medication for something else.

Good luck. I hope this time is your last time.

Alrighty. I got a valerian root supplement. Potassium. Hylands restful legs. A weeks worth of V8. Some pepto and some imodium (immodium). 3 mothers day cards. And a coke. Lets do this.

i used to take potassium and magnesium before bed and it helped a little with the RLS and i also tried the Hylands restless leg med and it did nothing at all for me but everyone is different and it is cheap so it is worth a try

1 more side note. I have muscle relaxers. Will they come in handy in my upcoming journey through hell?
Blank

i tried that to and i never seemed to get any relief from muscle relaxers either and i actually wouldnt mess with them anymore either because they kinda go hand in hand with the pain meds and can be abused to

After care is AA/NA, counseling, intensive outpatient, anything to treat the psychological aspect of addiction. Of course physically stopping the drugs is very important, but it's only part of it. It's very important to treat our minds as well, or else we find ourselves relapsing and back where we started.

You have the perfect attitude for this and sounds like you have it all worked out to deal with the withdrawal so I'm sure you'll do great. I'm on day one too this time around (and hopefully the last time, I think it will be but I've learned to take things one day at a time), but I'm on suboxone so I won't be withdrawaling this time. Good luck!

Depends on what kind of muscle relaxers. I wouldn't mess with something like Soma as it can be abused, but I was given Robaxin in rehab and it really helped with the muscle aches and pains of withdrawal without any side effects for me, but a friend of mine said they made het really tired. So just be careful.
