Hello,
I'm on Subutex and going on day 7 without Heroin after a serious four month run.  I found out the hard way that you have to be in full blown withdrawals before you take Subutex.  Everyone's body chemistry is different so be careful when beginning the Subutex detox treatment.   I waited 14 hours before taking Subutex.  I was in withdrawals but my body was still too saturated with Heroin.  As a result of taking it too soon, I went into really bad withdrawals.  It was the worst withdrawals I have ever experienced. My doctor had to come over to my home and stabilize me.  I'm okay now and looking forward in getting off Subutex also.  I'm very serious about staying clean and am surrounding myself with supportive addicts in recovery everyday.  I appreciate those of you who responded to my previous postings.   All of you who are struggling with getting off opiates, I wish you the very best of things and encourage you to talk about your feelings.  This is a great forum for support.

hello, sorry to hear about your experience, it happened to me too, i transitioned off methadone, and it was horrid. glad you had a caring doctor to help you out, not many would make a house call, awesome for you, mine does also. i forgot are you doing short term or long term maintenance? either way, best of luck to you and glad to see your turning the corner...there is light at the end of the tunnel once you make all the necessary changes, sounds like you have, congratulations to you! stay strong!

Im an oc user and once someone gave me some suboxone to take bc they knew that I would be going into wd shortly thereafter. But they warned me about that. Told me to wait until the withdrawals were full blown. I never did take it. I actually sold it to buy more ocs. .  :-( but Im sorry about your experience. That must of sucked dude. Hope all is well now and you continue on the straight and narrow. lol. for real.
