Detoxing With Tramadol

Detoxing With Tramadol

Has anyone used a quick taper of tramadol to detox from hydrocodone? I know they use this in some detox/rehab centers. I am hoping I could do this in like 5 days and avoid the worst of the withdrawal symptoms from the Norco. I was taking 10 Norco a day. Any feedback would be appreciated.

It could be helpful but be really carefull with Tramadol.  You might be trading one problem for another.  I've been hooked on both in the past and I'd say that getting off the Tram was at least as difficult if not worse.  I'd suggest a small dose of maybe Xanax but only to help with sleeping at night.  Hang in there, it took about a week before I noticed real improvement from hydrocodone w/d.  Also a weening off process could be worth a try.  Take Care.

in my experience darvon is safer to use for opiate wd, i am trying to sounds smart and clinical but nothing comes to mind other than this
ULTRAM IS EVIL
more detox units use short acting opiate like darvon then ultram
even if you do get hooked on darvon its a 3 day light detox you can manage without any medication
ultram is very difficult to come off of, even after taking it short term, its also got anti-depressant qualities so not only will one feel pain like the typical opiate detox you will also feel crazy like you would coming off zoloft or other psyc medication, i have experienced detox from several pills, i would have to rate ultram right there at the top as far as symptoms such as anxiety and insomnia
ok no more post from me tonight, if you see one steal my computer

DO NOT TAKE XANEX.....they are just as bad....i have been taking them to sleep at night for a year and i am now 3 nights without them (i am stopping ALL pills) and it is horrible.  the xanex withdrawls are by far worse than the roxicotten withdrawls.  i feel nuts.  physical withdrawl (withdrawal) is temporary but this mental game i am playing with myself now is far worse and i attribute it to coming off of the xanex.

In the exact same boat as you Missy - I am going to have to use tramadol to help with the withdrawals, I have been taking approx 10 Norco's a day for a little over a year now. I'm absolutely terrified of the withdrawals.

Let us know how you are doing, keep posting!
