Deviated septum, etc...

I had a cocaine problem for about 3 years. Now the inside of my nose has been eaten away. I have been told by my ENT that I have a deviated septum now and acute chronic sinunitus. He gave me a great receipe for a nasal solution that helps but not enough. In the mornings, my nose is so dry and stopped up that it hurts. When I try to blow all the muscus out, it is dry and hard so it hurts terribly. I have used tweesers to help pull some out but it is getting annoying. It seems to be so far up my nose that I can't get to it easily. It takes hours of blowing and using the tweesers. I know surgery is an option for the deviated septum. But will my nose ever not hurt again??? It also causes so much pressure in my ears that it has aggravated my TMJ. Sure wish I knew then what I know now...

i also have a deviated septum and when it finally blew, it was the most disgusting thing i have seen. i recently quit coke, and my nose was bleeding and in pain for over a month and i kept getting those huge chunks, blah. now my nose is so much better and not in pain at all, but that hole will always be there.

i think it's time you quit and got some help as with this damage to your nose, i bet your not getting very high off it anymore. have you tried to stop

I have had the surgery for a deviated septum and no problems at all after the recovery period

I have been clean for over two years. But my nose is not better. The sinus infections come all the time. I don't have nose bleeds, but the huge chunks...yes. Still!! What do yoou mean when you say your deviated septum blew?

oh ok, well congrats on being clean. i am surprised your still having problems, but mine is so much better now. my septum detached and there was an extremely large amout of blood and tissue that came out. the hole just kept getting bigger and bigger. were you a heavy user?

Yes for about 3 years. Daily. I was stupid. So many bad things happened in one month and I just went over the edge. I am so thankful now that I am clean. I have friends that still do it socially. There is no social use. It is the devils dandruff. It took me a good 6 months to be clear headed. I just want these sinus infections to go away. I take the antibotics and it will be gone, until the weather changes or I am around someone sick. Then it takes weeks before I am better.

How long has it been since you had your surgery? And how long was the recovery? did the sinus infections, dripping nose, etc... go away?

i never had surgery, a lady named worried had it done. mine has healed a lot on it's own thank god. i was a heavy user also
