Did suboxone really help?

Sub, lower amounts of oc and rox, periodically over the past few years (5) by friend and I are taking to time to finally hit this cold turkey. Today would be day 4 with no sub. 3 for one of us 6 for the other.

3rd time quitting cold turkey. Each time has worked. I am just anticipating the worst. Last night was a reminder of what the worst feels, 0 hours of sleep. WE have a divine friendship, we were are in this together. We have benzos, colonize, Cannibals or weed, addy. L Tyrosine, and I think moral support being the most important thing.

Our worst experienced of sub dosage was  probably a 8mg strip. but that only being a minuscule about just enough to get by, typically about 2 mg o rless for the better part of 4 years. We weren't  poor but we are the only few people who know the **** *** **** that we deal with in our life, the need for something to push us to do mediocre.

This will be the last quit, we are going to make it.

What are the worsts and bests we have to look forward to...

ANY advice would be greatly appreciated. This isn't my first forum either, but you all seem genuine enough. Please let me know.

I understand your friendship and all that but unless in an environment  that is controlled and noway to get your drug of choice trying to get clean around that many other addicts will make it a lot harder for all involved. In recovery we have to worry about our self and our self only and cannot worry about what others no matter if its a friend or loved ones problems or we will never fix out own. As far as the subs I used suboxone and it was a life saver but I did it way different and did it through a doctor. Using it to lower your roxynor whatever addiction will never work simply because suboxone is actually stronger than oxycodone. I would also say away from other drugs like pot because switching addictions happens easily when one is already an addict of another substance.

Good Luck and Godspeed

I never found anything but minerals, amino acids, and time to help my dope sick. Pot made me more aware of my detox, alcohol hardly did anything. Subs are weird. I felt like I recovered in waves. That stuff really lingers in the brain. I encourage you to walk or anything to get your heart rate up. That really helps me. I like to swim and did some slow pacing in my living room at the low points. Cardio exercise cleans your blood and stimulates natural chemicals to start working without help from opiates. The nutrients vicki mentioned and the info in the health pages at the bottom of this page really help with symptoms and healing. I also found that having my amino acid drink and vitamins replaced my morning habits of coffee and pills. I had to rethink my thinking each day to build sober memories. I found 12 step meetings to help me a lot. You just keep healing with time, never lose hope in that.

Hi there and Welcome-  It's slow here on the weekends so be patient; others will post to you.
I didn't understand what you meant by "day 4...3 for one and 6 for the other"...  It could be me! LOL

It's important, first of all, to stay hydrated and be sure you have enough good food in your system. Lack of food and water only makes you feel worse.

The benzos will help with sleep issues but don't make that a habit!  Many people report that pot, Benadryl, and alcohol do not help; just so you know...

You guys can do this!  Post back with any other questions. Oh and get some minerals like potassium and magnesium, calcium and zinc. They're invaluable for treating RLS.
