Diphenoxylate hydrochloride....I think it is causing me to have withdrawls!

Ok, for the past 2 weeks I have been to the doctor or the hospital regarding some stomach issues.
The prescribed me Diphenoxylate hydrochloride, along with some other Rxs. For the past 2 days I have been feeling slight withdrawl sensations off and on. It is just a slight case of the creepy crawlies, but it has started concerning me because I have not taken any loritabs (what I was hooked on) in 5 weeks.
However during my boredom during work I decided to look the Diphenoxylate hydrochloride up.
And in my suprise it is in the opiod family. I had no clue.
I am not taking more than I should, and I only take it when my stomach gets upset. Could this be what is causing this?
Someone please help.
( I just took 2 to see if they helped....I am really scared that I am going to have to do all of this hard work again!)

ok you just made me smile. thank you again, its so nice to get some supportive words from someone. Because lord knows that my friend that knows what is going on is the least supportive person on the planet. Which of course makes things worse.
Well keep up the good fight, and I will befinately check in with you tomorrow.

Anytime you ever think it would be easier to "just get high again" remember what you wrote me today.. I quote "I already went through my really bad withdrawals".<<< You don't ever want to do that again and believe me, it gets worst every time you go through it.  I am 48 and I have been doing this off and on for over 30 years and I always forget what you just wrote me.  I don't ever want to go through withdrawals again.   Today I am 51 day's clean without anything and tomorrow I will start all over again. Please keep in touch and let me know how you are doing tomorrow.

Thank you sooo much. I am definately trying....it just sometimes feels like it would be easier to just get high.
And after this, I am going to definately make sure I check any and everything I take....because I never want to feel like this again.
I was lucky enough to be able to quit CT and do it myself....I definately dont think I can do it again.

you're going to fine!!  A person as concerned about taking the lomotil as much as you are has their head in the right place.  I always make sure I know what I am taking before I take it now.  There are many drugs that are mild opiates, like Ultram.  Good luck to you

Thank you so much for your help.
I am really scared and affraid I might relapse. Even though I know that would be the stupidist thing I could ever do.
It is just so weird how I was feeling completely normal until yesterday.
ugh.

I already went through my really bad withdrawls. I havent had pills in like 5 weeks or so.
So I went a month sober before getting persribed the Lomotil.
And I only take 2 a day. Sometimes only 1.
I got perscribed it last Monday, then I went into the hospital Wen and Thursday, so I didnt take any then. But I really havent been taking that many at all. I didnt even notice any sort of high or anything.
ugh...
this really sucks.
I cant believe I am going to have to go through all this all over again because of something that I had no clue would be bad for me.

If you started taking the Lomotil right after you got off of Lortab then the Lomotil would have prevented you from going into severe withdrawals because your body and mind was being satisfied with an opiate.  Have you been taking a lot of the Lomotil over the last two weeks?

I took Loritabs for a year and 3 months. Towards the end I started taking like 13 a day.
As far as the Lomotil is concerned, I have been taking it for about a week and a half.
What should I do? I am really upset about this.

I don't blame you for being upset and you have to take a lot of Lomotil for a long period of time to be physically addicted to it.  It does not sound like you have done that especially if you have only taken one or two a day.  You may be having PAWS from the Lortab withdrawal which can go on for months.  I think you okay here, please don't panic  .  Try to not take anymore of the lomotil as there are other drugs they can give you for the issues you are having that are non-narcotic.  Call your Dr.

It is not very well know but Lomotil is an opiate.  How many have were you taking a day and how long were you on Lortab before that?
