Do you get pleasure telling doctors secretarys I won't be needing pain meds?

I schedualed a dental surgery for Oct. 23.  A crown broke off and there is no gluing it back this time. I got some satisfaction telling the secretary that I won't be needing any pain meds but will need the longterm numbing shot. She is one of those secretary alot of us have had to put up with in the PAST, when seeking our pills any way we could. The looks, tone of voice. The way they say my name like it's a cus word.

Just cocky because I'm free of the constant need for more pain pills.  Yahoo.  Anyone that is looking to get clean. THIS forum  is a fantastic place to get additional help. I had prior experience in A.A so I knew with my honest desire to get clean that I had to surrender.  Alot of the people that are still here were here last Nov when I made my decision to get free of the addiction to opiates. You can do it too. Withdrawal isn't the huge monster I had built up in my mind. It passes, many of us say how supprised we are (after the first few days or week)  that is wasn't that bad !!!  Come on and suit up be another soldier with enough courage to win the war against addiction. I brought myself a hero sweatshirt from hot topic. Because I felt like I was my hero.

What a great post.   Yeaaaaa --  Yes, it is wonderful and does tend to make you a little 'cocky'   ---- That's O.K. though ----  I too enjoy that bit of fun and have also told the pharmacist that has not seen me in two months that I no longer take that stuff --- He is the one who used to fill my very large Rx's every month- --- I'm sure he misses the large payment he got as a result of my addiction.   Never again - never again.   Free at last, free at last, Thank God Almighty, I'm free at last.

Yes this is a great post. I had that same feeling when I was at my pain management dr and this guy was yelling and screaming about his scrip refill. I was sooooo happy to not be that person anymore!! And feeling like I was at the mercy of the dr and the pharmacy.
