Does your energy ever come back?

I am now at day 7 in my detox off subutex. The RLS is gone. I slept a few hours last night and a couple the night before. I haven't been able to eat anything though. First because I can only stand up for about ten minutes at a time and I am afraid to try cooking. I am home alone with my dogs and haven't left the house in 6 days. Does this weakness and breathlessness ever go away?  I want off this do badly but I don't see how I'll be able to work again. I know it gets better. From five days ago to now is a big improvement. But I'm job hunting and need to work soon. Any ideas?  Thanks for all the wonderful info you provide.

Its not pity at all. Rather a painful experience at the moment for you.
I so know what your going through.
Its not much fun : )
I thought i would never get better but all my MH friends insisted it would soon pass and they were right.
It does take a long time to overcome subs, especially energy and motivation.
But your doing so great, especially with no support. Be very proud of yourself.
We will always be here for you.
We complain all the time with how we feel, you cant bottle it all inside, you need to vent how you feel. Its normal and healthy.
But please if you feel up to it, light daily exercise, eat healthy and lots of water.
Drinking tea will calm your nerves, camomile tea before bed will relax you.
Ive been exercising 4 days now and its improved my head, health and energy like you would not believe, push yourself.
I wish i had of started earlier.
Take care, again congratulations on 8 days i believe now.
Dont let anything stand in your way, tough times ahead, but only for months not forever. : )

Thank you so much for your response and all the others. It sounds like you know exactly how I'm feeling. I'm hoping to get out today since I managed a shower yesterday.  It is now day 8 and I've slept a little longer each of the past three nights which is fantastic. I live in south florida so getting sun is a breeze I just sit in backyard with my headphones they have helped me immensely. I have wanted to pick up the items all of you recommend but as I only found this site day 4 I've been unable to go out. I don't have any real help. My two sons live in the keys which is several hours away and they have there own businesses. My sisters are in Tennessee.  I had no idea how hard this would be my doctor never mentioned withdrawal problems but he cut me off a month after I lost my job and insurance. I know this sounds like a pity party but I just need to get it off my chest. No one I know has a clue what this is like. You all have been a godsend. Your comments and advice are keeping me plugging along. Thank you all so much.

Hi, im 5 1/2 months off Subutex and ive asked the same question daily.
Please take advice from Vic and exercise daily.
My energy comes and goes, good days and bad.
Im starting to slowly improve now.
I felt exhaustion for 6 weeks.
Everyday you should feel 1% better.
7 days is very, very early in sub recovery.
At 2 weeks, you should be feeling slightly better.
Eating healthy and exercise ( light ) is key to your recovery and getting your toxins out faster.
Just roll with it, 7 days is fantastic, best of luck.
Feel better soon : )

The energy will come back, but in its own time as your Brain has to adjust back from the removal of these stims..The more you push to do some kind of exercise the better it is on getting those Brain Transmitter going stronger..Diet is SO important. We must replenish back what we have lost during our days of using..Get some protein powder and electrolyte powder..This will help a bit and make sure you are taking some good vit/min..The Sun is really good too, as so is listening to music..All of this will help kick those Brain cells in and get them going, but this all takes time too!
Have Patience my Friend it will all balance back soon.
Bless

I know oxycodone is not exactly the same, but I can really identify with your question. When I got clean a few months ago, it was a day by day, progress came in little steps thing.
I did not dare go back and each day seemed terrible. But I decided to hang on, knowing from the advice of others, it does get better.
it was a big deal for me to go out and buy a pack of gum at a convenience store at several days clean. I was so anxious, I was scared. Sleep really was not good for awhile. Flu? Does not compare to opiate detox. The mental and physical pain
I had actually given up on improving, when I started noticing little things. Not looking for my morning pill. Enjoying a moment. Getting out of the house to interview.
I spent years rewiring my brain with booze and drugs, so I guess it may take awhile to fully heal.
I am still a work in progress at 10 months clean, but life gets better and better.
Hang on, be strong, keep your guard up, and your eyes on the prize!
It is so worth it!

Try sitting up in bed and not lying flat. This will help while transitioning to standing position and you'll feel less lighted and be able to walk around more and longer. Do you have any help?
