Drug abuse

What are signs of drug abuse?

1. running out of prescription early
2. asking family members for pills to get through until the script is filled
3. extreme mood swings. going from extremely happy to very angry all the time
4. Doctor shopping

These are just a few that happened to me. Everyone is different and these apply to pill addictions mostly. What type of drugs are you suspecting? Is this for yourself or someone else?

Lying, stealing, cheating, are the MAJOR signs...

Always being broke and having no money, borrowing money,
working hard for money and still the person has no money.

Relationship problems, work problems, family problems,
low self esteem after a come down, being tired all the time,
mood swings, manic (high energy) to low energy (depression)
Up and downs all the time from one extreme to the next

often when a person starts to wonder if they have a problem...then often they do.  For me it was that way.  I would worry about it then take some puills so i would feel better/not worry about it but it would pop into my head from time to time..until it popped in my head more and more often to the point it was really getting me down.  For me, looking back, the signs were buying pills cos I ran out all the time, worrying about running out, taking them to get an nrg boost, using to erase depressive thoughts like "am I an addict?" and when I thought about certain triggers...my x being one of those.  I really didnt know what my triggers were until I stopped using and they all came out..staring me in the face and I felt defenseless against them without my pills.  I had to learn to deal with them by learning new coping skills a the pills had turned against me anyway by the time I quit.  They no longer gave me nrg most of the time and they no longer made me feel happy.  Plus they were breaking me and turning me into someone I was not.

if you are looking for physical signs, depending on the type of drug.
could be dilation or constriction of the pupils,
weight loss,slurred speech or very talkative,
falling asleep or alot of energy,
sleeping more or staying up more.
