Drugs and anesthetic

I no its never good to consume drugs.  However will ecstacy consumed 3 days before a wisdom teeth removal have any affect on the general anesthetic?

I just asked my friend your question because he has used every drug known to man and had several surgeries.  He says there should be no problem with that.  Can I ask what your concern was.  I have some medical experience, I was just wondering.

I also did a medical search for you and the maximum amount of time it should be in your system is 5 days.  The average they say is 1-4.  this is as much as I know.  good luck

First of of all it depends on what type of anesthesia you are undergoing. You said general so think of it this way:It is not clear exactly how general anesthetics work at a cellular level, but it is known that general anesthetics affect the spinal cord (resulting in immobility), the brain-stem reticular activating system (resulting in unconsciousness) and the cerebral cortex (seen as changes in electrical activity on an electroencephalogram). Basically general aneshtesia is usually administered in three different liquids/gases or combination. One paralyzes your body by way of your spinal cord and brain stem. You ALWAYS have to tell you doctor and/or anesthesiologist any drugs (over the counter, rx, or illicit and any herbal supplements you have taken recently. MDMA( exstacy) has particularly bad interactions during general anesthesia, like heart attach or permanent brain damage. And the half life (time drug is effective and time it takes to excrete itself from the body) differs depending on how much you take and how often. Chronic users have different risks than recreational users. YOU HAVE DOCTOR/PATIENT CONFIDENTIALITY!! they cannot report you for doing drugs, my mother is an attorney-medical law. It always helps to make sure verbally with the doctor that you have confidentiality prior to telling him but you must tell your doctor how long before your surgery and how much you have been taking. There are cases in which it simply isn't safe to administer general anesthesia and your dr. might go with twilight insteas or may want to reschedule if you choose not to do that. I have the twilight when in had my wisdom teeth out and all four had to be cut out of my jaw, they were almost an inch into my jaw. And my teeth have always been particularly insensitive to prescription painkillers like codeine, hydrocodone, even morpheine, and more insensitive to novacaine shots. SO if your doctor decides to go with twilight i assure you it feels no different than general it just carries less risks than general. More than likely your doctor will tell you all is well and your surgery will go fine, but they still have to make adjustments to even general anesthesia in cases like yours at time so whatever you do...TELL YOUR DOCTOR!!!

My only concern was that the general anesthetic would react negatively with the ecstacy in my system and complications might arise.  This would be the second time Ive ever done it and it would only be one tab on a friday night when my operation is a monday morning.
