Hi there...I was wondering if you could do me a favor and read my below post "My Plan."  Your hubby works at a methadone clinic and my question pertains to that.  Thank you so much for your time!

I wouldn't advise that you wean off of methadone at the same time as the oxys, but rather wean off of the oxys as slow as you possibly can. If you're used to 150-200mg/day Then dropping that much might send you into mild withdrawal. I would use the methodone in very small amounts after weaning off of the oxy's. This should  reduce your withdrawals quite a bit. And methadone is a much longer acting opiate. For someone on methadone maintenance it can take up to 30 days to go into w/d, in some cases it can take up to 60 days. So having the methadone in your system after being weaned off of the oxy's will be a lot easier on your body. If you wean off of methadone 5mg/month or 2mg/week at the most. Anything higher is going to be very hard on your body.

She was gonna take the methodone insteed of the oxy and use it to taper.. sorry to butt in I just wanted you to have all the info.. she could use your help. can she use the methodone to taper??
