End of tapering W/Ds

Hello all- Thanks to everyone for sharing their stories. I am nearing the end of a long road of a 12/day Norco 10/325 addiction and physical dependency.  I started tapering last January and have sucessfully gotten down to 2 Norco 5/325 which I take as 4 halves (starting right after I wake up) and then about every 4-5 hours throughout the day when I start feeling those awful body aches. I'm ready to just pull the plug and be done but the worst withdrawl symptom for me is this feeling of just wanting to jump out of my own skin - extreme restlessness where I just can't sit still.  I thought that after this long of a taper and the fact that i'm only taking now what most people take short term after a minor surgery would mean almost no w/d's.  If I continue my taper at the same pace I've been (1/2 pill per week) will I still experience these types of w/ds after I stop completely anyway? I realize most people here would not have stopped this way but thought I'd ask. I read somewhere once that w/d's can actually be the worst toward the end of the tapering process.  Thoughts?

I have began a taper as well and will update my Journal soon with my tracking info and schedule. Below is a link to my recovery tracker (which I will fill in later tonight)

http://www.medhelp.org/user_trackers/show/347270?go_to=timeline_slider&start_date=2010-09-17&timeline_start_date=Mon+Dec+01+00%3A00%3A00+-0600+2008

I encourage anyone to look up my posts and read how I have been addicted now repeatedly and every time it was worse than the last.

PLEASE LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES!

hey girlee  well tapering is a finicky thing..it eases your final withdrawal but sorta spreads out the misery near the end....it basically boils down to this ...it helps reduce
your dependency to a point ...that point being to you reach the dose that no longer
holds you over...or theres not enough in the dose to feed the addiction hence the withdrawals start...I tapered off methadone from 150mg to 1 mg if I had to do it over
I would jump off at 5mg instead of tapering the last 5 weeks I was miserable during that time and just prolonged the inevitable...I dont think there is anny way to beat withdrawals what you have done is minimize what you will feel...just prepare yourself
for a few days of discomfort...you just got to be "ok without being ok" for a wile
your withdrawals should be minor youve tapered to the point of jumping off now its time to jump...you can do it...it wont be as bad as you think...and it wont be anny worst then a run of the flu so just go into it with a win win attitude youll be free of your addictions physical withdrawals in a few days and then life will start to look brighter to you...pray to god he does hear and will help those that call  good luck and god bless...Gnarly

Hi star, I did the taper from a much bigger addiction. I tapered until I was at 1/4 or 1/8 pill (I cant remember) a day once a day. I did still experience some wd symptoms after being done with the taper. Some RLS, lack of energy and lack of sleep. I took hylands restful legs before bed and sometimes had to take it again after bed and it worked for me. The wd symptoms werent nearly as severe as when i did ct. The wd was much like the wd between tapers. You may want to continue the taper for a while longer. You need to start puting more time between your doses. Do 3 doses a day then 2 doses a day and then 1 dose. At this point you want to taper about once a week so your body gets use to the less amount before you taper again. You can go to my journal and look at my taper program that I was on. Good luck.
