Evaluating smoking cessation through objective tests

by t, Mar 18, 2000 12:00AM
I am a graduate student working to develop a primary care office protocol for smoking cessation.  I am interested in:
1. What are the various types of measures of active cigarette consumption.  I have read some information on continine levels but I have not been able to get much information about methods of collection, accuracy, cost).  Please advise.
2. What is your opinion about the use of these tests as part of a smoking cessation program.   Thank-you,  T.

I have been a heavy smoker for the last 12 years.  I have tried everything to quit smoking nothing worked.  I have been smokefree for over a month.  I did hypnosis.  It worked.  No withdrawls or anything.  I never even think about it either.  Easy.  Zyban doesn't work for me.

I went thru a smoking cessation program and I did'nt have the nerve to stick with it when I got back around my freinds Weak as I am I am still smoking a pack a day, if I want I can make a pack last for 4 days, but Its very hard unless I am busy in an area where there is no smoking allowed. If I am in a place where no smoking is allowed I can't  wait to get where I can have one-- Is this what you wanted?
