Lately( for the past year), I have noticed that when I drink, even casually(not much), my body begins to quiver/shake internally, it's really not that intense, its very very subtle, it's similar to shivering. It get progressively worse the more I drink, you can conceptualize it as: the more I drink the more I "shiver" and feel off.. and even 1 beer/1 big glass of wine begins to make my body feel this way. If i drink an excessive amount and pass out without drinking a bunch of water, I'll have a steady shakey/ quiver all morning until, When I get food and water in me, I'd like to think it goes away but i don't really know. It just gradually goes away as the day progresses. I'ts been like this for about a year now, which is why I don't drink at all and I often don't like drinking too much anymore because it always happens.
There was an event where I drank an excessive amount with my friends and I has uncontrollable shivering, I felt reallly cold. But also, the shivering and shaking does have something to do with my nervousness. For example, I met a boy for the first time for a casual hangout, and I was really nervous, and my legs were shaking so much, he could have noticed it. Just an example, but even if I'm the slightest bit nervous, I'll shake. I'm just wondering and curious how alcohol ties into this. Maybe drinking alcohol in general makes me nervous? Maybe it's a a reaction in my body? Maybe alcohol makes my tremor worse? I'm not sure.
For more information: I really don't drink much, maybe once a month. I get hangover's easily if I don't drink a bunch of water to compensate for the alcohol. I'm 20, weight 110 and I'm almost 5'3.. I am healthy, I work out, eat really clean food, (a lot of greens, whole grains and protein). I do have a benign essential tremor.
My dad was an alcoholic/pill taker.
I have hypothyroid and am taking the proper medication for it.
