FIRST DAY OFF VICODIN

Ok, I am here to say this is do-able.  This tapering thing.  I know, not for everyone, but it is seeming to work for my personality.

I took my last piece of Vicodin yesterday and today was my first day without!  

Wow, I can actually "FEEL"... I can't believe how numb I had become to certain things.  

I got up this morning and made a big bonfire outside with my two little boys. (9 and 10 yr old).  We ate pancakes and drank coffee by the fire.  It was really so nice.  Then I proceeded to chase them around the yard and wrestle with them on the trampoline.  They loved it and I LOVED IT!  They haven't seen me WANT to do anything with them for about a year.

Then I went to work at my regular job  2 - 11 shift.  So, I kept SO busy, and thought about the pills several times throughout the day, but never like in a yearning way.

Thanks for all of ya'lls help.  I will continue to post no matter how this goes.  I know there will be ups and downs as per reading other peoples posts.

You never had to worry about showing your face on this site. None of us here have any right to judge another. As I am sure you know, we all have the same demons to deal with and reading your success story is pure delight.

Thank you for your kind words. When I see beauty I just speak form my heart and even though we will most likely never meet I can tell that you have seen the new day and truly understand the ramifications of what the pills had done to you. I seriously doubt that you will have any problem staying clean. May God bless and keep you and yours.

Oxyaddict:  I am still your biggest FAN!  Goodness, I felt those hugs all the way here in Texas!!!!  You guys, are wonderful.  It is amazing how much a few nice comments really help!  It truly TRULY feels good MENTALLY and physically without the pills.  I feel "refreshed".  

The natural high from the family?  I had forgotten how sweet it is.  My kids have seen me wake up and go straight to the recliner for about a year.  Yes, I have a full time job, but just barely did that.  I have been "nonexistent" to them.

I have very HIGH HOPES for you Oxy!!!!  I am gonna be your number one fan/cheerleader/etc!

Dogsneed:  I am not sure of your story, HOWEVER, just how wonderful your comment was, you are a kind, thoughtful person.  What a blessing to have "friends" like you two!

That just proves that tapering does work "if you can actually control and manage the dosage"  I am suprised to not see any posts replied to this FANTASTIC NEWS!!!  Usually people are chiminng in in less than a minute of a post being up..

God bless your beautiful heart. I am so incredibly glad that you have regained control of your life and you are seeing the reasons, right before your eyes, for being clean. Playing in the yard with those little angels has to give you more joy than any pills ever did.
