False positive test for opiates

I recently took a drug test for a job.  I tested positive for opiates in my urine.  I do not and have never taken drugs of any sort other than alcohol.  I dont take any prescription drugs, how is it possible that this happened. I hade consumed some beer about12 hours before the test.  Would this screw the test results?  I don't think so.

Well, the alcohol should have nothing to do with the opiates....unless of course it was some of the kind that you can get over seas that has alcohol and opiates....I'm actually not even  sure they still make that....However, I know that this may sound kind of crazy but had you eaten anything with poppy seeds in or on it in the last 3 days...??? They would NEVER admit it but eating two poppyseed bagels up to 3 days before the test would cause a false positive....Actually, there was a woman in Florida that won a law suit for the very same reason....she was going to apply for a job and had eaten 3 poppyseeds bagels on the way to the screening and tested positive. I think that she might have been treated unfairly because of it and she won a lawsuit entitling her to over 800,000.00...YIKES!!! So, .....that's all I have.....
