Fatigue after ulram

by brandy197500, Nov 13, 2007 02:18PM
First time ever posting.   I've been on prescription pain meds. for years now. I have been able to
get off all but ultram.  I've been on it for about 6 years to help with carpal tunnel and migraines. At least that was my excuse after a while. I would take 50mg 10x daily.  I've tried to get off of them over and over but would give in to the withdrawls and start taking them.
Well its been 7 days since i've taken any. The withdrawls were tough, but i've been there many times. Now my problem is extreme fatigue, the ultram seemed to always give me such energy. I'm just wondering if my lack of energy is due to the years of taking ultram or should i see a doctor?
(I eat diet pills like they are candy just to make it through the day.)

The fatigue is a normal part of withdrawal, moderate for some and really intense for others (like you, I'm in the latter category).  It will ease up, but it will take time, maybe as long as 3-4 weeks.  But then one day you'll just wake up and say, "Hey, I don't feel like ****!
But the diet pills may prolong it - I'm not sure.  Depends on what they are.  I think they can be as addicting as narcs. . . Definitely you need to talk to your doc.

Congratulations on the 7 days, though!  You're through the worst of it.

What kind of diet pills are you taking? How many? For how long?
After 7 days of withdrawls, yes, you will still feel some fatigue, little motivation etc. it will get better. I am concerned about the diet pills though. This could be a problem in itself.  Let us know what thats all about.
Keep in touch.
