Feeling awfull. Please give advice

is I have been using hydrocodone and oxycodone for over 5 years now. I started using them for severe pain I was having and they gave me my life back.  Well now they have taken my life away. I have to worry about where my next pill will come from. I get prescriptions but g thru them faster then I should leaving me about two weeks a month without any. The is the worst time!!!! As you all know. I am fed up with letting a pill run my life!!! I need help to get off. I took my last hydrocodone Saturday and am about 48 hours out. As you can imagine, I am feeling really crappy!  I went and got some L-tyrosine, B-complex and potassium.  I did some research and this is what looked like the best things to help me through   I have to go to work, even though is called in sick today. But I will have Togo tomorrow only five hours though and will have Wednesday off. I am trying to drink lots of water. What else can I do. I have to lick this and move on with my life. I am so depressed the pills don't help me feel better anymore.  Just need a place to start. No one knows anything about this that is around me. They see the depression because of other things that have happened in my life the last few years.

I still think about the drugs, but I don't want one. Not because I know it won't help, but because I don't want to ever go thru this again. I want it over. But am I going to be strong enough to say no!!!!!

The  vitamins that I choose are from some research I did. Part of the Thomas Recipe. Maybe it is the placebo effect, but the l-tyrosine has seemed to lift my spirits a little. I feel like I can get out of bed. I did tell someone my secret today. It did feel good to have it out. Still cannot tell my husband. We have been thru the ringer lately. He ended up having an affair while I was down from having surgery almost a year ago. I found out by the husband of the lady he was having an affair with, showing up at my house. So many things have happens in out last 10 years of marriage and don't know that we have delt with them.  Yes we did try counciling. I don't know if I want to be with my husband or not. Finances are in the toilet.  Nothing that a million others have not been thru. Just trying to find a way to move forward.

Try to hit a Meeting if you can..You will get lots of info and also be Supported in no other way..You must tell your secrets or they will eat you alive. A big weight will be lifted and you can move forward. Just have some patience because it does take time for the Brain/Body to adjust back from the removal of these Stims..I am kind of confused of why you picked out those vit/min. You will need some to take to calm you down and then some for energy down the line. The Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium and Ds are really good right now. You can also add some Electrolyte powder to your water..Also the Protein powder is full of Amino Acids so try that..You just need a really good Multiple Vit & Min, then you can add more if you are looking for energy or rest, however these too take time to kick in..I wish you the best and just take it min by min..It does take a while to get out of the Mental after the physical. Working on staying clean is where the work really begins.

Hey stweetyg! The depression is terrible in the beginning you have to keep your mind busy on something else. Watch funny youtube videos watch a funny movie or listen to some music and have a dance party for yourself :) you can do this and you are doing GREAT! Remember that this will pass and life will be so much better!

The depression is the worst!  I can handle the physical side. But the feelings of hating myself are so strong. I just can't find a light at the end of the tunnel. How do I start?

Believe me probably at least half of us hid the problem from our families . If you're not taking a really heavy dose it is pretty easy to do just saying that you have the  flu . What Tooter is saying is good advice and also you are amongst hundreds of people who have been just what you are going through in one form or another .   As for the pills not working anymore that is really when you know you have reached the end . Good for you for taking your life back . Stay here and you will receive plenty of support from people who can well relate ! Gods speed .. Jimmy

I have always got my pills legally thru my doctor. I have had some friends give me their leftovers but those are few and far between. Am I wrong to think that I can do this on my own without getting my family and dr involved?

Stweetyg, your at the right place. all these fine people will hold your hand to get you through this. It can be done!!! I too was on hydrocodone. They got to where they didn't do me any good either. I'm 71 so it was really rough on me for about 2 weeks. Then I started getting better each day. I have other health problems so I couldn't keep busy and I for sure it would have been easier and faster if I could have. Keep drinking water, Gatorade and if you can insure. Check the "Thomas Recipe" The main thing is to drink plenty of water!! Cut all ties with anyone or anything to where you get your pills. Tell your doctor, all the people close to you. Your going to need support.  Listen to al the people on here, they know what they are talking about. God Bless
