Feeling normal I think

Feeling normal I think

Ive been tapering off hydros for a while now. I cant even remember when I started, I need to go back and check my posts. A little recap here, Ive been taking them for 5 years, for about 6 months before I started to taper I was taking 6-8 (10 mg pills) per day. Im now down to taking 3 halves a day (total of 15 mgs a day). Ive been doing this for about a week and a half, maybe closer to 2 weeks. Yesterday evening I started feeling very normal. Woke up this morning and for the first time in 5 years, I dont feel like Ive been hit by a truck. Its been so long since Ive felt normal I forgot what it was like. Ive had small wd's between each taper, minor stuff compared to cold turkey. Rls, not sleeping well, felt really tired, mood swings. At first when I started the taper I watched the clock all the time, waiting til it was time to have one, and I was always thinking about them. Now I almost forget to take one. This might sound like a stupid question...but at this point, is it possible that the worse is out of my system since Ive been taking such a low dose? Im trying to decide where to jump off. Do I stop from here, do I go ahead and go down to taking one pill a day (broken into pieces and taken throughout the day). I just wonder if I will have any symptoms at all if I go ahead and  stop at the 15 mgs. Everyone is different so that might be hard to answer. Thanks to all for being here. Geez Im so sick of these friggin pills.

i was only taking 15 mgs hydros a day but for 5 years and I ct 5 days ago. I was having severe wd through day 3 and am at day 5  today and feeling better. I think it depends on your system and what your used to. Since my body was used to the 15 mgs every day, the ct was bad. Since you have tapered, which now I read that I should have..maybe you won't have it as bad as if you have ct. Keep trying no matter what you decide, don't give up getting off and getting your life back to normal.
take care.

WOW WTG Mjones. See the taper works if you want it bad enough and just like when I tapered you start forgetting to take some doses. I would forget to take my morning dose all the time because my body just didnt need it. You are doing great and you will see that when you take that last pill your wd will be just like after a taper. It wont be bad at all. I found that the hylands restful legs and potasium pills helped me with the rls. Also you will notice the lack of energy after your last pill and it will last longer than after a taper but also doesnt last to long. Took me about 2 weeks to get a lot of my energy back but still the wd will be way better than ct and you can still go about your day. Congrats on your taper and you are almost there. Oh also I tapered down to 1/4 pills, 4 a day, 3 a day, then 2 a day then 1 a day then none a day. At 4 a day I did every 6 hours. I kept 1 available to take if I woke up at nite with the rls. At 3 a day i did morning, noon and nite. Then 2 a day, 1 at bed and 1 in morning 12 hours after the one at bed time. Then the 1 a day at bed time. Put as much time as you need between the tapers. At this point 1 to 2 weeks. I tapered at 2 weeks apart when i reached the 1/4 pills but i forgot to take the morning pill a lot of times. Good luck!

Thanks hun! Right now Im taking a half at 10am, 2, then at 6. The rls isnt so much painful as it is just annoying. Honestly, I felt better this morning before I took my half. I am taking the hylands and having a banana a day. I cant believe Ive had the will power to do this on my own, with no one to hold my pills for me. I have really surprised myself. Oh there were tempting days that I wanted another, but I knew I would be only cheating myself, so I didnt. Now its like Im just taking them to ward off wd symptoms, cuz really thats all this small dose is for, as it does nothing at all for pain. And my mind knows that now. Im not taking them to feel better anymore, Im taking them not feel worse..fine line there but it might make sense to some. The pills I have at the moment are flatter and round instead of the oblong ones. So these are easy to break into quarters when time comes. I think maybe about 4 more days of 15mg, then down to 10mg a day. Im sleeping pretty good most nights, my racing thoughts at night are almost gone. Man that drove me nuts. Hopefully in the next few weeks I can come on and count my clean days too!!!! And be as proud of myself as all of you are for what you have done for yourself. what a gift eh!!!??

You are still taking the doses pretty close to each other. You may want to spread out the doses you are taking now before you taper again. 6 hours apart instead of 4 hours apart. Say 8, 2 and then 8. Spreading the doses farther apart is just as important as lowering the dose when taperring (tapering). You are going 14 hours without a dose so you just mite as well try going longer between the other doses. Not only does your body need to get use to a lower dose but it also needs to get use to not having the doses without feeling the wd so soon between doses. If you can go 14 hours between 6 to 10 than you should be able to go longer between the doses during the day time. It just makes things easier in the end. Challenge yourself and you will just keep feeling better about everything and stronger. Soon you will be counting the clean days!

Thanks, I will start spreading them out more. I guess I was spacing them for my most active hours. I will spread them into 6 hours. Thank you for all your help and encouragement.
